Three Spring Lunch Recess Playground Volunteers Needed

We are in our third (and final) trimester of Lunch Recess coverage for the school year.  Things are looking much brighter than they did during the winter, but we are still in need one person for each day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12:10-1:05pm.  If this sounds like a fun way to spend your lunch time, or you have an hour to spare, please e-mail Denise Montoya, our Lunch Recess Playground Volunteer Coordinator and our Vice Principal, Connie Gray

- Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Staff Changes

We are happy to announce that we have hired two new teachers for the next year.

  • Megan DuPuy will be joining our 3rd grade team in the fall. She is currently finishing a Masters in Teaching Program at the University of Portland, where she also earned her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a minor in Spanish and Psychology. Her student teaching experience has been in both kindergarten and 3rd grade.
  • Megan McGinnis will be joining our 2nd grade team. She holds a Master's Degree in Literacy for Special Needs from Seattle University and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. She comes to Sacred Heart School from three years of teaching both kindergarten and middle school at St. Pius X School in Montlake.
We are in the midst of our search for a physical education teacher to replace Mr. Murphy and will update the school community once the process has been completed. We are also beginning a search for a new middle school math and science teacher as Ms. Jameson will not be returning to Sacred Heart School in the fall.

Grandparents' and Grandfriends' Day

Sacred Heart School is excited to once again welcome your children's grandparents and grandfriends to our school for a morning of liturgy and time with the children on May 8. As we are busy preparing for this special day, we need your help in letting us know if the grandparentsand/or grandfriends  in your family will be attending.

Please RSVP your confirmation with the number of grandparents attending as well as their mailing address by clicking on the following webpage (GP/GF Day). Once we receive your confirmation, we will send out a formal invitation to the attending guests.

It is very important that we receive this information as soon as possible, as we will have a complimentary continental breakfast specifically for the grandparents and grandfriends and we want to ensure the caterer has the correct number of attendees.

-Thank you for your attention and we look forward to welcoming these special guests to our school.
