Auction Fund-a-Need

I am happy to announce that this year's Fund-a-Need at the auction will be our gym! After all it's the only place in the school that's large enough for our whole community to

"Come Together".

Thanks to the efforts of CYO, Playmakers, and Parents' Club we have made some improvements to the gym during the last few years including new padded chairs and curtains for the stage, and of course we had a new floor installed during the last capital campaign. However, it's time to spruce up the gym with some significant improvements to enhance the décor, sound, lighting, comfort and safety of all who come together and use it. Next week in the From the Heart I will explain the specific projects we have in mind and the amounts we need to raise to fund them.

Some of you may be wondering, "What is a Fund-a-Need" project? It is a project or program to address a specific need of the school that is presented at the auction. Everyone in the school and parish community is given the opportunity to support the funding of this project by raising their paddle to donate at specific levels. Past Fund-a-Need projects have included the school's endowment, the security system, computers and Activboards in the classrooms, and the big toys on the playground. Your gift to the Fund-a-Need is fully tax-deductible. These projects benefit the entire school and represent costs beyond those in our annual operating budget. Our school and parish families have always come together in the past to very generously support these projects, and I think that this year will be no exception.

You Can Make a Difference for Our School with Box Tops!

Boxtops

Since 1996, Box Tops for Education has helped America's schools raise over $600 million to buy the things they need. Sacred Heart receives 10˘ for each Box Top submitted. This can add up quickly with everyone's support. Just 8 Box Tops per student per month could bring $3000 in a school year!

How Does This Work?

  • Clip Box Top coupons from favorite products and send them in to our school.
  • Register your Safeway card to earn special eBoxTops. Click this link to start.
  • Our School ID is: 207130

Box Tops can be submitted by attaching them to either of these collection forms (Click to download):

Although the forms are preferred, you can also submit loose Box Tops as you collect them (preferably in baggies or envelopes). There is a collection box at the front desk as well as in each grade's pod.

You can also sign up to support our school at the Box Tops website. You'll get updates on our school's Box Tops earnings, money-saving coupons, family-pleasing recipes, chances to win Bonus Box Tops for our school, and the latest Box Tops news!

Martin Luther King Celebration - "HeartBeat"

Sat, Jan 17, 2015 4:30pm

Prelude & 5pm Mass

"HeartBeat" is a new worship group at Sacred Heart, made up of singers Diane Figaro, Renata Lampkin, Stephanie McIntyre, and pianist Ahra Yoo.  We have come together to spread the light of God's love and tenderness through heart-felt, spirited song. "HeartBeat" loves to sing close-harmony, lyrical, and upbeat songs.  We've created arrangements of music by Catholic songwriters, praise and worship songs, and other songs with a spiritual message.  Please join "HeartBeat" at Sacred Heart Church as we celebrate one of the world's greatest leaders, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our celebration will begin at 4:30pm on Sat, Jan 17, leading up to and during the 5pm Mass.

All are welcome!
