SHS Library Catalog at Home?
The SHS library catalog system is available for use at home! Just go to the SHS website and click on Library Catalog on the top ribbon. Here are some of the great services available: Look up books in our school library. Browse by subject, keyword, title, author, reading level or interest level. Search for educational student websites using WebPath Express, the Destiny student web search engine. Use quick links for students found on the library homepage. Research subjects using our subscription databases. Sacred Heart subscribes to the Proquest family of databases for school students. Our Proquest subscription includes Culturegrams, elibrary, SIRS Discoverer, History Study Center, Learning Literature, and the Proquest periodical database. These databases include subject focused encyclopedia articles, graphics, journal and magazine articles, suggested websites and more. On the library homepage, just click on the Proquest link, enter the username and password provided in parentheses. Then click on 'My Products Page'. Choose from the list of databases shown with no further passwords necessary. If you have questions or need assistance, drop me an email or stop by the library. - Mrs. Hooper

- Auditions for named parts in the ensemble will begin in January, and your actor has a great way to prepare. New this year, Playmakers is proud to offer two elective workshops for 5th-8th grade students interested in this year's spring musical. These workshops are designed to de-mystify the casting process and help students to feel more comfortable within the audition environment. Participants will work through the audition music with music director Paul Linnes and receive coaching on their chosen scene with director Britt Boyd. Each student will go home with a better understanding of how the auditions will work and lots of great feedback to help them prepare! Registration for the workshops opened Friday, December 5th at 7am at the link below. Please send an email to playmakers@sacredheart.org for a potential wait-list if workshops fill up. Limit 25 per workshop.
