Playmakers

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG is coming May 1-3

There are lots of ways to get involved!

  • Auditions for named parts in the ensemble will begin in January, and your actor has a great way to prepare. New this year, Playmakers is proud to offer two elective workshops for 5th-8th grade students interested in this year's spring musical.  These workshops are designed to de-mystify the casting process and help students to feel more comfortable within the audition environment. Participants will work through the audition music with music director Paul Linnes and receive coaching on their chosen scene with director Britt Boyd.  Each student will go home with a better understanding of how the auditions will work and lots of great feedback to help them prepare!   Registration for the workshops opened Friday, December 5th at 7am at the link below.  Please send an email to playmakers@sacredheart.org for a potential wait-list if workshops fill up.  Limit 25 per workshop.

Workshops Date:         Monday, January 5th

Time:                         3:30-5pm or  6-7:30pm

Location:                    Moore Theater

Fee:                           $25 per student

Registration:                Playmakers

  • Calling all artists!  Your student can help Playmakers design the look for this year's spring musical.  Students simply draw a picture that can be used to promote CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG in marketing materials, the program, tshirts and more.  The winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card!  Students received the art contest forms in classrooms and additional copies also are available at the front desk.  Artwork deadline is noon on Wednesday, December 17 to the school office.
  • Information regarding registration and rehearsal times coming soon.  There will be an important parent information night on January 7th at 6pm in the Moore Theater.  Parents will hear from Britt Boyd, learn about her casting philosophy and be able to get questions answered regarding the audition process and the production timeline.

"But first, let me take a selfie...."

The annual Sacred Heart School yearbook design is underway and our team needs your help! We would like to include selfie's taken at various SHS events  - sports games, around the school, advent program, service projects and more! Please have your Sacred Heart School student send selfies of them with their SHS friends doing SHS activities to yearbook@sacredheart.org. The best photos will be featured throughout the yearbook. Ready, set, snap!

Reminder:  There will be no after school ESS next Friday, December 19th, which is an early dismissal day.

As current SHS families, it is time to send in your application(s) + $25 fee for these two grade levels.

  • For Pre-K: In order to secure your priority slot in Pre-K 2015, we need to receive your application and 1st month's tuition of $460 no later than Wednesday, December 17th. If you don't remember your status (i.e. application in or not, please contact me right away.)
  • For Kindergarten:  Kindergarten assessment dates are January 22-24th.  You can call the front desk starting Wednesday, January 7th to secure your preferred time slot if we have received your application.  Teacher Recommendation forms completed by your child's current Pre-school teacher need to be sent back directly to us at SHS by Friday, January 16th.  This form is available on our website under the admissions tab under application process/forms, I can email it to you, or you can pick up a hard copy at the front desk.  If you have a student currently in SHS Pre-K, just let me know via email if you are interested in Kindergarten.  We do not need a new application from you and we will automatically schedule their assessment time during their regular school day here at SHS.  Mrs. Thoensen will be completing the teacher recommendation forms accordingly.

You Can Make a Difference for Our School with Box Tops!

Boxtops

Since 1996, Box Tops for Education has helped America's schools raise over $600 million to buy the things they need. Sacred Heart receives 10¢ for each Box Top submitted. This can add up quickly with everyone's support. Just 8 Box Tops per student per month could bring $3000 in a school year!

How Does This Work?

  • Clip Box Top coupons from favorite products and send them in to our school.
  • Register your Safeway card to earn special eBoxTops. Click this link to start.
  • Our School ID is: 207130

Box Tops can be submitted by attaching them to either of these collection forms (Click to download):

Although the forms are preferred, you can also submit loose Box Tops as you collect them (preferably in baggies or envelopes). There is a collection box at the front desk as well as in each grade's pod.

You can also sign up to support our school at the Box Tops website. You'll get updates on our school's Box Tops earnings, money-saving coupons, family-pleasing recipes, chances to win Bonus Box Tops for our school, and the latest Box Tops news!
