Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences

Conferences take place next week from 7:30am until 2:30pm on Monday, 11:40am until 7pm on Tuesday, and 8am until 11am. on Wednesday.

Middle School conferences will take place in the gym during those times on a drop-in basis. Meal breaks for the teachers are from 11:30am-12pm on Monday and 3:30-4:40pm on Tuesday. Please do not come to meet with teachers from 20 minutes before either of these break times until the break time is over or less than 20 minutes before the end of the conference day. This is to ensure that parents and students have a reasonable amount of time to meet with the teachers and that our teachers get fed (nobody wants to have a conference with a hungry teacher).

- Mr. Burroughs

We have currently received $7,900 in pledges and donations.

You have until TOMORROW to get your donation or pledge

in to be eligible for this match!

Sacred Heart School is excited to announce a challenge match donation to the Treasures of Faith Annual Fund from a long-time donor to Sacred Heart School and Parish. Mr. Larry Kring will make a 50% match to all new pledges to the Treasures of Faith Annual Fund of $100 or more up to a total of $10,000! The pledges must be made between Now and November 21. That means if you pledge $200 to the Treasures of Faith Annual Fund, your donation will be matched with an additional $100; for a total donation of $300! And your new pledge may be eligible for matching by your employer as well.

All pledges can be made (and paid) on-line at:  Treasures of Faith. You can pay your pledge immediately or you can make a pledge to be paid any time up until June 1, 2015. All new pledges and donations made between Now and November 21 are eligible for this challenge match.

Sacred Heart School is grateful to Larry Kring for his commitment to the success of our students and our school. If you are interested in following his lead and making a challenge gift of $1,000 or more, please e-mail Theresa Daigle or phone (425) 451-1773 ext. 107.

Let's seize the opportunity to increase our Treasures of Faith by an additional $30,000 or more in pledges and matches!

News from the Health Room

A huge thank you for everyone's help and cooperation with our annual vision and hearing screenings of students in grades K-3, 5 and 7th. Our fantastic parent volunteers conducted the necessary screenings for 261 students. This year we had 35 parents volunteer to conduct the initial screenings as well as come back to help with the required re-screenings for 99 students. Several of the parents volunteered to work multiple shifts. This is the 3rd year that Brianna Bennett has chosen the health screening volunteer coordinator position as her service job. She continues to do a fantastic job in recruiting parents, being present for every aspect of the screenings and making sure that things run smoothly. We could not have done the screenings without you and our volunteers!! Lastly, a thank you goes out to all the staff for your flexibility and cooperation during the screenings.

Annual screenings are beneficial & identify potential vision and/or hearing issues. I'll be emailing the results to the parents of the 33 students whose results come with the recommendation for further evaluation.

Lastly, there has been a recent change to our phone system so now any calls made from the health room will display our direct number instead of the school main phone number. Please note that the direct health room phone number is 425-283-4270. Anytime a call is made to parents from the health room a voicemail message will be left for you.

- Ann Marie Thompson

Open House

Thank you SO MUCH to all our wonderful volunteers who helped pull together a fantastic evening.  We are thrilled with all of the lovely families that attended the Open House and we could not do this event without your time, energy, and enthusiasm for Sacred Heart.  You are incredibly appreciated!

December Shoe Liturgy

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner?

This year is going by so fast!!  At Sacred Heart School the arrival of Thanksgiving means that it is time to start thinking about our annual Shoe Liturgy.  This year's Shoe Liturgy is scheduled for Friday, December 5th at 8:45 am.  For those of you who are new to Sacred Heart School, the Shoe Liturgy is a special tradition at our school.  We have formed a partnership with Treehouse, an organization that serves foster children in King County.  This year we are celebrating our 11th year of partnership with Treehouse.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming soon!

The annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held from
Tuesday, December 2 through Thursday, December 4
in the Sacred Heart School library.  Stop by the library to browse the great Scholastic collection of books offered during the fair.  Extended hours: open from 8:30am until 6:00 pm each day!
Don't forget Online Shopping!  Books purchased online during the online fair dates will add to our school book fair total.  Books ordered online will be delivered to the school with no shipping charge. Online orders will be sent after the close of our fair. Online shopping will be open starting on November 24 and will close on December 7.  Books make great holiday gifts!  Your generous participation brings new books to our school library and classrooms.  Check out the details at our fair homepage.

Jimmy John's Drinks

From this point forward we are asking that parents not order fountain drinks from Jimmy John's. Bottled water is fine. We have had ongoing problems with the fountain drinks including the wrong drinks arriving with the order, unlabeled drinks that are hard to distribute to the right student, spills, drinks not arriving at all, and more. The school provides milk each day for those who ordered during the registration process and bottled water is always welcome as it is easy to distribute and spill-proof. Thank you for your cooperation.

Mr. Burroughs

Annual Parish Pledge Reminder

As the annual Parish Pledge drive winds down, please remember that everyone who receives the "Contributing Parishioner" tuition rate is expected to be a registered parishioner with a pledge card on file each year and to be making regular payments toward fulfilling your pledge. - Mr. Burroughs

Morning ESS

Students arriving between 7-8:10am may attend ESS in the gym.

Students arriving after 8:10am should wait outside the school at either the main entrance or the lower lot MS entrance. This helps us to avoid a surge of kids entering the gym during the last few minutes of morning ESS.

Thank you for your cooperation.

There will be no after school ESS on Friday, December 19th, which is an early dismissal day.
