Film Screening and Panel Discussion
Dyslexia is the most common learning disability, yet remains the most publicly misunderstood. Many students still go undiagnosed, meaning they are often performing below their potential. The goal of this event is to bring awareness of Dyslexia, to deepen our understanding, to debunk the myths and to learn about what it is like for these individuals.
This event is free to educators, parents, and students and will offer a film screening of The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia, Directed by James Redford with Scientific Advisers Drs. Bennett and Sally Shaywitz.

Catechetical Sunday this weekend! Free Dress Opportunity
All students who show their school pride by attending Mass at Sacred Heart Church this weekend (Saturday 5pm, Sunday 9am or Sunday 11am) in full uniform will receive a free dress pass for next Wednesday, September 24th.
Service Opportunity
We need students in 4th grade and above to help next Saturday!
Students and adult chaperones are still needed to support the Renewal Food Bank's food drive at the QFC on NE 8th in Bellevue on Saturday, September 27th. The shifts are two hours each, starting at 9am and running until 3pm. All student volunteers are asked to wear their school uniform (it helps with donations). Middle school students earn service hours for working at this event. Sign up using this link.
Safe Environment Refresher Courses
The Safe Environment online refresher courses are now available. Anyone who completed the Called to Protect for Ministries class prior to July of 2014 is currently due to take an online refresher course. This is an annual requirement that resets for everyone over the summer (so even if you did an online refresher course last spring, you are currently due to take another one). Click here for log-on instructions. In order to maintain your eligibility as a volunteer, it is important to stay up to date with your Safe Environment training. Contact Amy Davis if you have any questions.
If you are not intending to volunteer with children or vulnerable adults but would like to know more about how to help keep children safe, you can attend a class tonight at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Seattle at 7pm. Please note: this class does not fulfill your training requirement if you are planning to volunteer with children or vulnerable adults.
Volunteers
It is important that all volunteers check in at the mail office, sign in and wear a visitor badge. When you have completed your volunteer duties please sign out in the yellow visitor book at the front desk.
Parking Lot Safety

- Do not talk or text on your cell phone while driving on the school grounds
- Drive no more than 10 mph while on campus
