We want to thank the entire school community - students, parents, and staff - for another terrific year at Sacred Heart School. We packed a lot into this year from accreditation to Trunk or Treat and Willy Wonka to graduation. We are grateful each and every day to be a part of this community and to have the privilege of serving the Church and all of you. We pray that this summer will be a time of rest and rejuvenation for all. To those who are leaving our community, we say, "May God go with you and may our lives cross again." We look forward to seeing you all again in the fall.
- Mr. Burroughs and Ms. Gray

Tuition 2014-2015
If you are a new family using FACTS monthly payment plan, you should have received an email directly from FACTS on Tuesday, January 17th at around 6:30am advising you to set up your bank account. Please do so right away to ensure that a July 2014* payment will be processed. If not, the total amount due will be spread over an 11 month period starting in August 2014 - June 2015. * Note if you are a Pre-K only family that has requested a 10 month program, please immediately set up your account with FACTS and once your account is set, I can then change it right away to 10 months starting in September.
- If you are a returning FACTS user, your account is automatically being rolled forward with the 2014-2015 tuition amount related to your family and your first withdrawal will take place in July 2014.
- If you have chosen to pay your tuition in full, the due date is on or before Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014 (the 1st day of school.)
Feel free to e-mail Susana Knapp if you have any questions about this process.
Congratulations to
The Sacred Heart School

State of the School Report and Annual Parent Survey
If you have not done so already, please take a few minutes to read through the (belated) State of the School report and provide your feedback with our updated Annual Parent Survey.
Next year the State of the School report will return to May and the Annual Parent Survey will return to February. - Mr. Burroughs
Additions to the School Uniform for Girls
Lands' End recently added some new items for girls to their uniform line that we thought you might like to have as additional options. Anyone with a middle school daughter knows how long we have waited for Lands' End to add the Khaki Box Pleat Skirt for girls. We have also added a new Plain Front Chino Short in Khaki for girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. Two additional shirt options were also added for girls Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth, a short-sleeve Peter Pan collar shirt and a short and long-sleeve straight collar stretch blouse. As a reminder, if you are shopping for uniforms online, you can log onto the Lands' End website and select the School Uniform tab. Sacred Heart School's School Code is 900085846, which will link you to the specific SHS uniform page.
New Background Check Procedures
In an effort to better secure your personal information, the Archdiocese has switched to a new background check provider that does not require Social Security numbers. For that reason, it will be necessary for your identification (driver's license) to be checked when you submit background check paperwork to ensure that the name, address, and date of birth match those on the form. Existing background checks are still valid, so you will not be asked to fill out a new form until you are due for a three year update. Please contact Amy Davis with any questions.
Called to Protect Class September 10th
Mark your calendars - Sacred Heart will be hosting a Called to Protect class on Wednesday, September 10th, at 6:30pm. If you have not yet taken this important training, please make sure to register online. We strongly recommend that all parents take this class, but it is a requirement for those who will be doing any volunteering at Sacred Heart. If you have any questions, please contact Safe Environment Coordinator Amy Davis.
Annual Used Uniform Sale - August 6th 4-6:30pm
We welcome you and your kids to drop by the school lobby on Wednesday, August 6th for a great opportunity to purchase used uniform pieces for $5/a piece. We will have our whole inventory available and it will be a great opportunity to get a great deal on gently used sweatshirts, plaid items and a handful of shorts, pants, and polo shirts. Doors will open at 4:00pm until 6:30pm. Cash or Checks Only. It will also be a great time to catch up with Sacred Heart friends. If you are not able to come that afternoon, please know our used uniform closet is accessible most of the summer. Just stop by the front desk and ask Kerry or someone in the office for the key from 9am-2pm on most summer days.
Buddy Family Event - August 6th 4-6:30pm
We are currently working on putting together our Mentor/First Year family pairings and Debbie Smith plans to send out our emails connecting families in this program by no later than mid-July. Thank you to all of you who have already volunteered to be Mentors this upcoming year! On August 6th during the uniform sale, we will be hosting our annual Buddy Family Event as a great way to get to know each other and other Sacred Heart families. Be sure to check in at our Buddy Program table that will be located at the front entrance of the school, grab a nametag, and a little treat for your kids! We hope for nice weather and an opportunity for playtime at the upper lot play toy as you mingle and possibly find some uniform pieces that will work for your child. We hope to see most of you there!
- Susana Knapp and Debbie Smith, Buddy Family Coordinator.
Lost and Found
The final day to retrieve personal items/clothing from the closet is Friday, June 20th at Noon as all remaining items will be donated to the CARE program on Saturday, June 21st.
Service Jobs
We have 46 families that have *not* yet signed up for a volunteer job next year.
If you want to avoid the $1,000 opt out fee, please e-mail Colleen O'Donnell, Service Board President before the start of school in September. For more information on the service job obligation please see the website.
