Steve and Mr. Burroughs with advice and expertise related to school policies, budget, and strategic planning. We are especially seeking individuals who have expertise in law, facilities, or marketing. All school commission members must be confirmed Catholics and may not be employed by or married to someone employed by Sacred Heart School or Parish. State of the School Presentation - NEW FORMAT
This year we have decided to try a new format for the State of the School presentation. We are working on an all-digital presentation that will be sent out via e-mail and posted to the school's website. It will contain information about ITBS and other standardized test scores, the accreditation action plan items for next year, the budget, personnel changes, fundraising news, and more. The annual Outstanding Teacher and Staff Awards will be presented at a school Mass later in May. We are hoping that this new format will provide important information to all of our families during this busy time or year.
- Mr. Burroughs
Placement/Teacher Request Policy
Our classroom teachers work exceptionally hard on classroom placements each year and a considerable amount of time is spent trying to balance classes academically, emotionally and socially.
Families with specific educational reasons may request in writing a classroom placement prior to Friday, May 9, 2014. All Placement Requests must go directly to the Vice Principal for students entering K-5. Included in the request must be reasons why a specific teacher is best able to meet the individual child's educational needs. We are only able to consider Placement Requests made in writing. Requests made to classroom teachers are not a guarantee of placement. If you have information that you believe needs to be considered in your child's classroom placement, please submit a Placement Request.
Educationally valid requests submitted before the deadline will be reviewed and considered when making placement decisions. However, not all requests can be accommodated.
Please click here for the Placement Request Form.

Thank to your to our 3rd Grade Brownie Troop
Many of you might have been the beneficiaries of the delicious Girl Scout Cookies sold by our 3rd Grade Brownie troop. This year, the troop decided to "take action" on two projects using the profits from their cookie sales. First, they reached out to Summit Assistance Dogs , a local organization that raises and trains service dogs for people with special needs. The troop invited Alex from the Summit Dogs organization to come with his dog Frasier so they could learn more about the organization; see how Frasier helps Alex (who has Cerebral Palsy) and witness the special bond between them. The girls donated $200 of the cookie money profits to this organization. This is a relationship the troop hopes to foster in the future.
Their second project was to help the parish with Easter celebrations. Father Steve and the girls decided to purchase plants, flowers and dirt with the cookie money. Then the girls gave their time to plant the new flowers in all the pots surrounding the parish in time for Holy Week. All of the girls and Brownie leaders had a great time, working together and sprucing up the Parish.

Treasures of Faith Annual Fund Update
We are currently at 66% of our budgeted goal ($225,000) for the Treasures of Faith Annual Fund. With your help, we can reach our goal by the end of May! The teachers and faculty have joined in by supporting the annual fund through their donations as well.
Even though the Annual Fund is 100% voluntary, we rely on these monies to support our operational budget. Many schools receive close to 100% participation in their annual fund from their community. Currently, only about 80% of the Sacred Heart School community supports our annual fund. We are asking that every family prayerfully consider supporting this most important fund. Not only will that allow us to meet our budgeted goal, but 100% participation will allow us to seek foundational grants for special programs and capital improvements.
We need an additional $89,000 to reach our goal. Please feel free to make your donation at the following website: Treasures of Faith or you can drop off a check made payable to Sacred Heart School to the attention of Theresa Daigle.
Thank you for your consideration.
