  • On Good Friday we ask that all students, parents, and staff dismiss from school silently as we remember the crucifixion and death of our Lord.

School Commission Members Needed for Next Year

We are currently seeking individuals to join the school commission next year to replace members whose terms are expiring. The school commission is an advisory board that supports Fr. Steve and Mr. Burroughs with advice and expertise related to school policies, budget, and strategic planning. We are especially seeking individuals who have expertise in law, facilities, or marketing. All school commission members must be confirmed Catholics and may not be employed by or married to someone employed by Sacred Heart School or Parish. Monthly meetings are scheduled on the second Wednesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. If you would like to join the discernment process for next year's school commission, please contact Mr. Burroughs for more information.

2014-2015 School Calendar

The 2014-2015 school calendar is now posted to our website.

State of the School All School Meeting Moved

The date of the annual State of the School Meeting has been moved to May 22nd. All parents are encouraged to attend in order to hear more about the school's activities and accomplishments this year and our plans for next year. The awards for outstanding staff and teacher will be presented. ITBS test scores and the school's budget will be discussed.

Placement/Teacher Request Policy

Our classroom teachers work exceptionally hard on classroom placements each year and a considerable amount of time is spent trying to balance classes academically, emotionally and socially.

Families with specific educational reasons may request in writing a classroom placement prior to Friday, May 9, 2014.  All Placement Requests must go directly to the Vice Principal for students entering K-5.  Included in the request must be reasons why a specific teacher is best able to meet the individual child's educational needs.  We are only able to consider Placement Requests made in writing.  Requests made to classroom teachers are not a guarantee of placement.  If you have information that you believe needs to be considered in your child's classroom placement, please submit a Placement Request.

Educationally valid requests submitted before the deadline will be reviewed and considered when making placement decisions. However, not all requests can be accommodated.  Please click here for the Placement Request Form.

New Families 2014-2015

Welcome to Sacred Heart and we are pleased to now have you looped into our weekly From the Heart email newsletter.  Please take a few minutes every Thursday AM to read through this newsletter as it is the best source of up-to-date information from many sources of the school including the administration, parents' club, CYO sports organizers and special event coordinators.  Even though your students won't start with us until the fall, there will be some great information and details in this newsletter that will pertain to you.  If you have any questions or would like this email to go to a different or additional email address, please contact Kerry at the front desk.

Welcome to the Costa Family

We are so excited to announce that we have a wonderful new family with two daughters that started here at SHS on Monday, March 31st.  The Costa Family just moved here from France and we are blessed to welcome Ines in Kindergarten (Mrs. Davis' class) and Leonor in 1st grade (Ms. Maloney's class.)

Welcome our newest student - Andrew Wright

Andrew has just started with us this week in Kindergarten in Mrs. Davis' KB classroom.  He is joining his sister Lauren who is already here in Ms. McGrath's 4th grade and Alexander who has been with us since January in Ms. Harris' 3rd grade classroom.  We are thrilled to now have this whole lovely family with us at SHS!

Treasures of Faith Annual Fund Update

We are currently at 59% of our budgeted goal ($225,000) for the Treasures of Faith Annual Fund. With your help, we can reach our goal by the end of May! The teachers and faculty have joined in by supporting the annual fund through their donations as well.

Even though the Annual Fund is 100% voluntary, we rely on these monies to support our operational budget.  Many schools receive close to 100% participation in their annual fund from their community. Currently, only about 80% of the Sacred Heart School community supports our annual fund. We are asking that every family prayerfully consider supporting this most important fund. Not only will that allow us to meet our budgeted goal, but 100% participation will allow us to seek foundational grants for special programs and capital improvements.

We need an additional $93,000 to reach our goal. Please feel free to make your donation at the following website:  Treasures of Faith or you can drop off a check made payable to Sacred Heart School to the attention of Theresa Daigle. Thank you for your consideration.
