TAX FRAUD INFORMATION - PLEASE READ AND TAKE ACTION

I am very sorry that we continue to hear reports about more people who have been affected by the tax return fraud. If you have not yet checked to see if you have been a victim of the tax fraud that has hit many of our staff and parents, please do so today. Follow the steps outlined in this memo from the archdiocese. If you know other parents or staff who are no longer at the school please forward this memo on to them, too, and encourage them to check the status of their return and to follow the steps in the memo. I will let you know any new information as soon as it is passed along to me. - Mr. Burroughs

Our Lenten Journey

This week, CRS Rice Bowl invites us to enter into solidarity with the people of the Philippines. We are encouraged to reflect on the Catholic social teaching principle, Option for the Poor, and reminded of Jesus' words: "Whatever you did for these least of mine, you did for me." Let us pray this week for our brothers and sisters in the Philippines and all around the world, that we see the Face of Christ in the poor among us. In the Philippines, CRS assists the people with disaster relief and rebuilding their homes after devastating storms. The following CRS videos focus on how CRS and the rice bowl donations are working for the people of the Philippines and also a simple meal from the Philippines. Recipes and information are also available on your Rice Bowl calendar.

Videos: CRS in the Philippines, Global Kitchen, Philippines

Reminder: The parish will hold a simple Lenten supper and guest speaker about the country of Malawi on Friday evening, March 28, at 6:00pm.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found closet is overflowing with unmarked items (mainly clothing.)  Please take a moment right away to go through the closet to see if anything belongs to your family and encourage your child to do the same.   We will be spring cleaning and "clearing the closet" TOMORROW - Friday, March 28th to donate unclaimed items to a local organization that cares for refugee families.

Grandparent's and Grandfriend's Day

Sacred Heart School is excited to once again welcome the grandparent's and grandfriend's to our school for a morning of liturgy and time with the children on May 9. As we are busy preparing for this special day, we need your help in letting us know if the grandparent's and/or grandfriend's in your family will be attending.

Please RSVP your confirmation with the number of grandparents attending as well as their mailing address by clicking on the following webpage (GP/GF Day). Once we receive your confirmation, we will send out a formal invitation to the attending guests.

It is very important that we receive this information as soon as possible, as we will have a complimentary continental breakfast specifically for the grandparents and grandfriends and we want to ensure the caterer has the correct number of attendees.

- Thank you for your attention and we look forward to welcoming these special guests to our school.

Development News

Thank you to all of those that have made their Treasures of Faith Annual Fund payment. To date, we are 49% of the budgeted goal of $225,000. We need your help to bridge the gap. These monies are used to help fund programs, offset the cost of tuition and provide the high quality catholic education you have come to expect.  Please prayerfully consider a gift to this most important fund. All gifts are 100% tax deductible. We also work with companies like Microsoft, Boeing, and many others that provide corporate matching. If you are not sure whether your employer offers this benefit, you can contact your human resources personnel or feel free to email Theresa Daigle with your questions.
