Accreditation Update

Our accreditation visit was a great success. Thank you to all of the staff, students, and parents who participated in the process over the last two years. This visit was the culmination of the last six years of growth, change, and development at Sacred Heart School and involved our entire community. I encourage you to read the great things the vising committee had to say about our school in their Report of Findings. We will not receive our official term of accreditation until sometime during the summer after the WCEA commissioners have reviewed the school's self-study and the visiting team's report. However, as you read their findings I think you will see that they found much here at Sacred Heart School to praise and commend. Although the accreditation process is over for the time being, this does not mean that we intend to rest on our accomplishments. Our staff is committed to continuing the process of reflection and improvement over the next six years. As always, we welcome your ideas, questions, concerns, and participation in that process. - Mr. Burroughs

Safe Environment for Youth and Talking About Touching

Each year grades kindergarten through 3rd and 7th are required to present the Talking Abut Touching (K-3) and the Safe Environment for Youth (7th) programs to our students. These programs are a part of the overall Safe Environment program of the archdiocese and school. All students are encouraged to participate in this important program. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mr. Burroughs or Mrs. Boyd. If you decide to not have your child participate in the program, please complete the opt-out form for Talking about Touching or Safe Environment for Youthand return it to your child's teacher by Friday, March 7th, 2014.

- Mr. Burroughs

Tuition Rates for 2014-2015

Tuition rates will rise next year by 5% while fees will remain unchanged. This increase represents an increase of $341 for a single student at the contributing parishioner rate or about $28.50 per month. Sacred Heart School has worked hard to keep our annual tuition rate increases as consistent and predictable as possible for parents in order to facilitate long-term planning by the school and for your family. Other schools may only see increases in some years of 2 or 3% one year but then an 8 or 9% the next year. This makes budgeting difficult and growth erratic.

I have been committed over the last six years to a slow and sustainable growth of our school's programs and services. In that time we have dramatically increased the number and hours of our instructional aides in the primary grades, reduced the size of language arts and math classes in middle school, increased Spanish instruction throughout the school, added a school counselor, and much more. These programs and personnel are critical to the successful education and formation of your children. Since tuition is the major source of the school's revenue (as it should be), annual tuition increase should be expected and are a sign of continuing growth.

The school staff and school commission work together very carefully to control costs and use all of our revenue wisely. We greatly appreciate your ongoing and generous support for all of the people and programs that make our school great. - Mr. Burroughs

Calendar for the 2014-2015 School Year

We are currently working on the school calendar for next year. Many of the important dates are posted on the school calendar, including the first day of school which is September 2nd .We anticipate that it will all be completed within the next few weeks. It will be published as soon as it is completed and accepted by the archdiocese. Thank you for your patience. - Mr. Burroughs

Registration Information for 2014-2015

Innovating & Illuminating Our Future

SHS' 4th Annual Science Fair, Thursday, March 6, 2014

It's that time of year again, where "inquiring minds want to know". Each year, our students put in a great deal of effort into their science projects. Sacred Heart School then invites science and educational members of the community to judge our students' projects and evaluate the scientific methodology of each project.

We are looking for volunteers to help this year with the science fair. We need help with set up/tear down, hospitality, and helping the judges during the event. We need approximately 10-15 volunteers.  There are a variety of responsibilities and shifts.   Please help make this year's Science Fair be a great success!

Please email Barbara Ennis or call 425-306-4276 if you are interested in helping.

Morning ESS Change March 6th

Due to the Science Fair, morning ESS will take place in the library instead of the gym on Thursday, March 6th. Students will need to be dropped off at the exterior library entrance (door nearest the play structure in the upper lot). It would be greatly appreciated if only students who must be dropped off early attend ESS that morning as a smaller group would make this change of location more manageable.

From the Development Office

Treasures of Faith Annual Fund

Don't forget to get your pledge payment in for the Treasures of Faith Annual Fund. Our goal this year is $225,000 and we need your help to get there! Currently, we are at 32% of goal. Our operating budget relies not only on tuition and fundraising dollars, but also the Annual Fund. This Fund is essential and allows us to provide quality education to all of our students every year.  Matching corporate gifts are a great way to increase your donation. Any gift helps and we understand that some can give more than others. Please prayerfully consider and give what you are able to allow our children the very best education. All gifts to the Annual Fund are 100% tax deductible.  You can either drop off a check to the Development Department, made payable to Sacred Heart School, or use your credit card at the following link.

If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Daigle, Development Director at 425-451-1773 ext. 107 or email [email protected].
