Accreditation Update
The accreditation visiting team has been here at the school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They will be reading a report of their findings to us this afternoon. A copy of their report will be posted to the school website after the break. The final decision about our term of accreditation will not be received until sometime during the summer as the visiting team makes a recommendation, but the WCEA regional committee makes the final decision when they meet.
I want to express my gratitude to everyone who made this accreditation process possible and so helpful for our school. The staff put in many extra hours of work over the last year and a half in preparation. Their collaboration was fundamental to our success. I also want to thank the students, parents, and parish staff who participated in surveys and meetings, provided logistical support, and kept us in their prayers throughout this process. I especially want to thank Cris Riva for taking care of all of the food and other hospitality arrangements for our visiting team.
- Mr. Burroughs
Auction Thanks
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our gala auction last weekend. We are still finalizing numbers, but the event was a success. I am grateful to all our parent volunteers who worked countless hours before the auction and at the event itself. Our committee chairs, especially, were a terrific team who made our auction smooth and successful. Thank you to everyone who bid and raised their paddle in support of Sacred Heart School.
I want to thank Mr. Sheffield for his moving speech in support of our endowment. We will certainly miss him as he retires at the end of this year, but he has built a legacy (like our endowment) that will last for many years to come. I am so glad that he agreed to be our speaker this year.
I want to thank Nancy Schoeggl for stepping in at the last minute to help with cashiering. Her assistance was invaluable in getting all of the charges processed and items delivered.
Finally I want to thank our auction advisor, Christine Kerr, and our auction chair,
Theresa Daigle, for their leadership and devotion to the auction. Their work was tremendous and it showed in the results.
-Mr. Burroughs
Auction Opportunities
Although the gala auction is over, there are still opportunities to participate. You can still make a donation to the endowment, which was our Fund-a-Need item this year. Your gift to the endowment supports your school this year and every year on into the future.
- There was a second reserved parking space that was overlooked in the live auction. This parking space is reserved 7 days per week, 24 hours per day and is located near the gym entrance to the school.
- Also, there is a second front row of seats at graduation for sale, too. The seating comes with two reserved parking spaces.
We will take bids through Tuesday, February 25 at 9am. Bidding starts at $500. Please send your bids to Theresa Daigle. The highest bidder will be contacted by Theresa at the close of the auction.

Flu Prevention
As you may have noticed, flu is on the rise at Sacred Heart School. We have seen a number of students out sick due to the flu and have recently begun to see staff infected with this illness as well. Below is some information from the Washington State Dept. of Health about this year's flu season, how the flu spreads and how it can be prevented.
In the hopes of keeping our students and staff healthy, we do ask that you keep your students home whenever they have a fever and until they have recovered from the flu.
