Auction Registration is Now Open!
Our annual gala auction is just over the horizon now. We have a terrific team who has been working hard to make this a fun, memorable social event while raising money to support our school at the same time. Now we need you to get involved by registering online for the auction today. Increase your fun by organizing a group of your friends to sit together. If you're new to the school and would like to make some new friends, contact Theresa Daigle in the development office (x107) and she'll help you to find seating for you with other parents from your child's grade. Of course there's no need to stop with just your spouse and friends. Grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors, coworkers, and more are always welcome, too. This is the most important fundraiser of the year. So, register today to make this the most successful and most fun auction ever! - Mr. Burroughs

Sacred Heart School Green Team
Under the guidance of our Student Council, Sacred Heart has been accepted into the King County Green School Program, a program that helps public and private schools in King County become more environmentally friendly.
This program consists of 3 levels; each level comprising of different projects a school must fulfill in order to complete the level. The First Level focuses on Waste Management, Recycling and Hazardous Materials Management (this is required of any elementary school with a ceramic arts program). In this first level (which can take up to a year to complete), we will assess what we are currently doing and introduce members of our community to the new Waste Management and Recycling policies and procedures. We will also spend time focusing on specific topics such as, Reducing Paper Use, Reusing Durable Products and different ways we can Recycle. We also ask that as your children come home and share what they have learned about the importance of caring for God's creation at school, that you carry on these practices at home, to the best of your ability. We promise to keep you up to date on our program on our progress. Thank you in advance for your support. Riva Tobin, Rachel Wang, Claire Russell, Julia Durbin, Emma Cooney, Max Riva, Quinn Floyd and Sophia Daigle, SHS Student Council Officers;
Ms. Gray, Student Council Moderator and Leigh Floyd, SHS Volunteer Recycling Coordinator

Uniform Reminders
With the cold weather upon us, we are seeing many students wear boots to school. As a reminder, boots may only be worn with pants. Boots may be worn to school until the end of March.
I know some of the girls do not like to wear pants, another option for keeping legs warm is to wear solid white, navy, black, or hunter green tights, or navy ankle-length leggings with matching navy ankle socks under uniform skirts, skorts or jumpers. - Ms. Gray
No Junk Lunch
Our new lunch provider has started to great reviews from our students. I tried the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup and was quite pleased with the terrific taste and texture. This is not your typical lunch room food. It's healthy and delicious. Register online and then order up until midnight the night before lunch service (school password is SH10).

Social Media Update for Parents
It's hard for a parent to keep up with all of the latest apps and websites that attract our children today. This article posted online provides a quick update on some of the latest social media trends along with information about the concerns related to each of them. It's well worth the couple of minutes it will take you to read it, and will hopefully lead to a good discussion between you and your child on the do's and don'ts of the online world. - Mr. Burroughs
