When is Twitter not really Twitter?

When you are using it only to receive emergency messages from Sacred Heart School!

When you sign up to follow Sacred Heart School on Twitter you are not creating a Twitter account or signing up to follow anyone else. You won't receive updates from Kim Kardashian or Lady Gaga. You'll only receive emergency messages from Sacred Heart School. You can receive these messages on any text-capable phone (no smart phone needed). Anyone can sign up for these messages - mom, dad, grandparents, nannies, babysitters, and more.

All you need to do to sign up is to text the message "follow SacredHeartSch" to 40404. Then you will receive immediate notification about emergencies at Sacred Heart School - and nothing else.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Schmid!

We are happy to announce that Karlie Suzanne Schmid was born on Monday at 2:01am. She weighed 7lbs 7oz and was 20 inches in length. Mr. Schmid will be out until the Christmas break taking care of Karlie and his wife.

Willy Wonka!

The Playmakers presentation of Willy Wonka will be held April 4, 5 & 6th, 2014

Registration Opens Friday, January 10, 2014

Auditions will be the week of January 27, 2014

For the latest information please visit the Playmakers site.

Uniform Reminders

With the cold weather upon us, we are seeing many students wear boots to school.  As a reminder, boots may only be worn with pants.  Boots may be worn to school until the end of March.

I know some of the girls do not like to wear pants so another option for keeping legs warm is to wear solid white, navy, black, or hunter green tights, or navy ankle-length leggings with matching navy ankle socks under uniform skirts, skorts or jumpers.

Kindergarten 2014-2015

We have set our Kindergarten assessment dates for January 23-25th.  In order to secure your preferred time slot, we will need your application in hand and will start booking assessment times/dates once we get back from Christmas break on Wednesday, January 8th.   Please try to have your application in by no later than Friday, December 20th accordingly.  If you have a student currently in Pre-K, we do not need an application from you and we will automatically schedule their assessment time during their regular school day here at SHS.

Lost and Found - LAST CHANCE

Thank you to all the families/students that have taken time recently to check and pull their items from the closet.  You still have time to check the closet as we have delayed our donation date to CARE to December 21st.  All unclaimed items will be cleared from the closet after school closes on December 20th.  If you can't come in sooner, a great time to check will be as you drop off or pick up your student for the Advent Program on Thursday, December 19th.

Mrs. Bergere Returns

Mrs. Bergere has returned after her maternity leave to teach 7th and 8th grade religion. We are glad to have her back with us.

Extra, Extra - Calling All Journalists!

After taking some time off, the Spartan Times is ready to publish again!

We're looking for 6-8th graders interested in being reporters and editors for our student newspaper.

The newspaper staff will begin meeting weekly in December (outside of school hours) to plan, write and layout the newspaper. Our goal is to publish our first issue in January.

An application and parent permission are required to participate - please e-mail Mrs. Kirwan or call 425.451.1773 ext. 1636. For more information about our school paper please join our Edmodo page! The code is: fuuyne

SHS Science Fair Needs You!

Sacred Heart School's Annual Science Fair is scheduled for March 6th, 8am-3pm, and we are in great need of S.T.E.M. Professionals and/or Educators - adults engaged in, or retired from, a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics - to serve as judges for student projects.

Ideally, we will pair an industry professional with an educator to assess and score individual student projects; to ensure ample time to judge and tally results, we hope to secure at least 30 judges for the day.  Lunch will be provided.

If you are interested, or know someone who may be interested in volunteering, please contact us.
