From The Service Board - Class Community Coordinators for 2013-14 Needed

Thank you for those of you who took on the new role of Class Community Coordinator this year, the position has been an overwhelming success!  Faculty and parents alike have provided positive feedback to the Administration.  We are looking for volunteers who are interested in taking on this service job for the 2013-2014 academic year.

  • Each Grade will have two "Class Community Coordinators" who will work as a team to support their Grade's Teaching Team and parent community; the specifics for the position will differ for each grade.  The CCCs should be comfortable with email, SignUpGenius.com, interacting with Teachers, Administration, fellow parents and members of the Community.  This positions runs from June of this year through June of next year.

If you would like to be considered for the role of CCC for a particular grade please email

Grateful Givings for our Troops

Sacred Heart School is working with Grateful Givings and the U.S.O. to help support our troops. From May 6th-May 15th, students are asked to being items that help ease the travelling burdens of troops as they go to and from their important work in the military. Items include: disposable razors, travel-sized deodorant, travel-sized tooth paste, toothbrushes, granola bars, NutriGrain bars, hot chocolate pouches, and tea bags. Collection boxes will be in each classroom and a more complete list of items will be sent home during the drive. Please consider donating at least one item to help.

Mass Time Change for Next Year

In order to maximize our learning time next year, Fr. Steve will be changing the Friday Mass time from 9am  to 8:45 am. This will allows us to make better use of our Friday mornings between Mass and recess, especially for the middle school. In addition, every Friday morning from 8:45am to 9:45am will be reserved for a school Mass, assembly, or family group meeting. This schedule will enable us to avoid using other instructional time for assemblies and family group meetings, once again maximizing instructional time for our students.

Usborne Book Fair is Coming!

Visit the fair at the school library on May 8, 9, and 10!

Renewal Food Bank

The Renewal Food Bank of Bellevue is currently distributing food out of a temporary location at the Highland Covenant Church near the Crossroads Mall. They are still actively searching for a permanent location in order to continue to serve more than 250 hungry families each week. They would appreciate any leads you might have about a location. Please contact Mr. Burroughs if you have ideas for a location. The ideal location would be close to a bus route, near either the Crossroads or Factoria area, and have 1200-1300 square feet of space for food storage and distribution.  Thank you for your help. - Mr. Burroughs

From the Development Office

As parents, your long-term investment in your child's education will reap rewards for many years to come. You can also make a difference to his/her education today by making a gift to the Sacred Heart School Annual Fund. Tuition and fees only cover approximately 70 percent of the cost of educating your child(ren). The Annual Fund and income from the endowment provide the rest. Your gifts to the Annual Fund benefit your child(ren) as well as every student enrolled at SHS.

One-hundred percent participation is the goal for each school year. Each family is encouraged to participate by making a gift or a pledge at whatever level is comfortable for them. Gifts of all sizes make a difference. Currently, we are only 50% of our budgeted goal for the 2012-2013 school year. Remember, payment on your pledge is due by June 3, and our fiscal year runs from July 1 - June 30 . For more information, please contact

in the Development office.

 - Thank you for supporting this most important endeavor.
