Grandparent's Day, May 10, 2013 - Update

For those of you, who have already RSVP'd for your grandparents, Thank You. Moving forward, we have put a link on the Sacred Heart School website to receive any new registrations. You can access that via the website, or selecting the following link:  Grandparents Day Registration

Please note, all RVSP's are due by May 3. After this date, we will not be able to accommodate your guests due to restrictions in the fire code. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

We look forward to meeting all of the grandparents/grandfriends on May 10. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Theresa Daigle in the Development office.

Anti-Bullying Video

One of the best ways to help prevent bullying is for parents and their children to talk together about it. This gives parents the opportunity to make clear their expectations about treating others as you would want to be treated and for children to share their questions and concerns. For older students (5th through 8th grade, perhaps 4th), you might want to start your conversation by watching this video (To This Day) together.  - Mr. Burroughs

Placement Request Policy (rev. January 2013)

The administration and staff of Sacred Heart School has revised our Placement Request Policy effective January, 2013.   We are now requiring families to complete a Placement Request form and provide specific academic and/or behavioral needs that justify their request for a specific teacher for their child.  The Placement Requests needs to be completed and returned to the Vice Principal by Friday, May 24th.  Requests made directly to classroom teachers will be forwarded to the administration so the Placement Request form can be completed.  Requests received after May 24th will not be considered. Requests received by the May 24th deadline will be carefully considered as class lists are made; although, it is not possible to honor all requests.  Our goal is to create classrooms that are balanced academically, emotionally and socially.

Service Opportunity

Sacred Heart Church is in need of additional altar servers. For middle school students, altar serving counts towards your community service hours. Please contact the parish office to find out about training opportunities or to get on the altar server schedule if you are already trained.

Flexible Fundraising

Hopefully your families received their Flexible Fundraising balances to date on Thursday 3/28.

If your family is under the required fundraising amount of $225, there is still time to fulfill your requirement before our 6/1/13 deadline.

  • Jog-a-thon is a great fundraiser at 80% return to SHS and your balance.  Jog-a-thon is scheduled for 5/7, and is already set and ready to take your donations.
  • Scrip and Magazine are also available for your convenience.

*Also, we have discovered that our electronic system is unable to track the PCC reloadable card.  If this effects your family please e-mail Angela Taylor so we might be able to give your family proper credit.

Thank you for your support of Sacred Heart School.
