Report Cards

Due to server problems at our PowerSchool service provider, report cards will not be distributed today (Thursday) as originally planned. They will instead go home on Monday. We apologize for the delay.

Extra Time

Over the last few years we have added some important new programs to our curriculum including the Junior Achievement Program, conflict resolution lessons with our school counselor, Spanish in grades 1-8, the LEAD 21 reading program. As you may be aware, since last year we have been carefully reviewing our schedule in order to ensure sufficient instructional time to meet the archdiocesan, state, and now Common Core standards. It has become clear after much study, discussion, and parent feedback, that we need to add time to our schedule.

Therefore, beginning with the 2013-2014 school year, we will be extending our school day next year until 3:15 every day (including Tuesday). This will add 2 hours and 15 minutes per week, which is more than two additional weeks of instructional time in our school year. This extra time will ensure that all subject areas are receiving the time they deserve. - Mr. Burroughs

Parking Lot Reminders

A few reminders for the safety of our students, parents, and staff:

  1. Please do not talk or text on your cell phone while picking up, dropping off, or driving through our parking lot.
  2. Please do not drop off students in the circle near the church, except in the case of students who are disabled (temporarily or permanently). Drop off and pick up should only happen in the designated areas.
  3. While driving through the parking lot and behind the school, please maintain a speed of no more than 5 mph. This may seem very slow, but it helps greatly to improve safety.

Science Fair

We were blessed with another terrific 5th through 8th grade science fair this year. I want to congratulate all of our students who participated. Several judges told me that they have seen the overall quality of projects improve each year. I want to thank our science teachers (Mrs. Nyquist, Mr. Sarlitto, and Mrs. Slater) as well as several parent and staff volunteers who were instrumental in the operations of this event: Julie Chandler, Suzanne Gang, Kameo Simpson, Barbara Ennis, Nancy Schoeggl, and Kathy Hooper.  I have already overhead some students talking about next year's projects. - Mr. Burroughs

to acquire skills and knowledge useful for students interested in having a positive impact

within their schools. Whether a student has been involved in student leadership before, or

wants to get more involved this school year, this camp will provide a solid foundation for

young persons to grow as student leaders.  See the website for more information.
