Sacred Heart Staff Appreciation Book
We would like to let you know about the new "Sacred Heart Staff Appreciation Book", that is will be available at the front desk year round. From time-to-time we all like to do nice things for our SHS Staff (Christmas, Birthday's, a thank you), but we have no idea what they might like. The Staff Appreciation Book will be a great resource for you. You can access this information online by clicking this link.
If you have any questions please e-mail Jennifer Joffe the Sacred Heart Community Coordinator.
Need Your Feedback on "Hot Topic" Discussion Forums
Coming up soon are some evening discussion forums with the school counselor, hosted by Kari Boyd and Parents Club. Specific dates, time and location are TBD. These discussion nights are mainly to provide information and spread awareness on various "hot topics" throughout grade level groups. These beneficial discussion nights will offer parents an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and chat with other parents in their child's grade level.

Report Cards/Assessment Reports
Report cards will go home tomorrow. ITBS scores will be included with your child's report cards; we had hoped to be able to send the Gates MacGinite Reading Scores, but the student reports have been delayed. We will also be sending home some school wide ITBS data in the next couple of weeks.
AED's at Sacred Heart
Thanks to a generous donation from the class of 2011, we have ordered two Automatic External Defibrillators, one for the school and one for the church. Of course we hope never to need them. But the fact that they will be here makes us ready in an emergency.
We greatly appreciate this gift!
Please Welcome Our New Youth Minister!
Please welcome Ms. Emily LaHood. She recently moved to Seattle from Chicago and has been volunteering with Holy Family, Kirkland's youth ministry program while searching for a job in ministry. She will be directing the middle school and high school youth groups and the confirmation program. She has been visiting the school this week to meet students and staff. We're glad to have her here.
I want to thank Mrs. McReynolds, Mrs. Kirwan, Fr. Steve and Mr. Cunningham for their great work these last few months leading the middle school youth group. They have the program off to a terrific start and ready for Emily to continue. - Mr. Burroughs
Morning Drop Off Reminders
- Upper Lot K-3 Grade: Please remember to pull ahead to the Library entrance before stopping to let your children out. Have your children exit from the passenger side of the car, step up onto the sidewalk and walk carefully to either the front entrance, or the primary wing entrance if it is open. Carefully continue to drive around the back of the school via the loop and exit on 97th Ave NE. Please do not turn around and exit back out on 14th; the City of Clyde Hill does not allow us to exit onto NE 14th at the drop-off or pick-up time.
- Lower Lot 4th - 8th Grades: If there are no cars ahead of you, please pull your car all the way to the stairs nearest the school before stopping to unload your passengers. If there are cars ahead of you, please pull into the line behind them and wait until you have at least reached the basketball hoop (located past the first set of stairs) before unloading your passengers. Please make sure your passengers exit from the driver's side of the car to avoid crossing in front of traffic. If parents or students are waiting to cross the traffic line, please follow the directions of the staff member on duty about when to wait and when to drive. Please do not pull out of the drop-off line and drive around the cars in front of you. Exit via the north end of the parking lot (near the big toy). If you are planning to park your car, please drop off your children in the drop-off line and then drive around to a parking space.
