9th Annual Membership Meeting

Dear member,

You are invited to attend the Partnership's 9th Annual Membership Meeting taking place September 24-25, 2013 in Sacramento, CA. Our theme for this year's meeting is Strengthening Connections, Building the Movement Together which emphasizes the importance of collaboration as we pursue our vision of a California free from domestic violence. The Annual Membership Meeting will have several different components, including:
  • Senior Managers' Roundtable
  • Statewide Public Policy Meeting
  • Networking Reception
  • Awards Luncheon
  • Membership Business
  • Board Elections 

We are pleased to announce the call for nominations and applications for at-large Board positions to be elected by members of the Partnership at our 9th Annual Membership Meeting. This is an opportunity for member organizations to support their staff in moving into leadership positions within the statewide coalition. Self-nominations are also welcome. This year, we will be electing one at-large Board Member. View call for nominations announcement.

Event Details & Registration
Day 1 - September 24th
Senior Managers' Roundtable
Senior managers from domestic violence organizations will gather to explore topics of interest, and offer peer learning and mutual support. The roundtable will feature short presentations and facilitated conversations on topics relevant to seasoned managers as well as new and emerging leaders.

Statewide Public Policy Meeting
Help inform and guide the development of the Partnership's annual statewide policy agenda. Public Policy and Research Committee (PPRC) members from across the state will join our policy staff and other leaders to engage in dialogue on legislative and systems change proposals for 2014.

Networking Reception
Day 2 - September 25th
Annual Membership Meeting
Learn about the Partnership's activities during this membership business meeting. Agenda includes networking with advocates throughout California, Board elections, the State of the Partnership and a public policy update.

Partnership Awards Luncheon
We will recognize three exceptional individuals who have made outstanding leadership contributions to the work of ending domestic violence.

Help shape our future and strategic directions by engaging in critical conversations on emerging issues relevant to prevention and services, advocacy and social change.

Registration
Registration Fee: $35 fee to cover food and beverage expenses.

To register online for the Partnership's Annual Membership Meeting click here. You will receive an e-mail confirming that your registration has been processed. The registration deadline is Tuesday, September 10, 2013.

Hotel Information
All events will be held at The Citizen Hotel: 926 J St Sacramento, CA 95814. The Citizen is a full-service hotel centrally located in the heart of downtown Sacramento providing both business and leisure travelers with award-winning shopping, dining and entertainment options.

The Partnership has secured a special group rate at The Citizen Hotel at the rate of $119 per night (plus tax) from September 23th -24th. This rate is available until midnight September 3, 2013. After this date, rooms will be released for general sale and may not be available at the group rate. Reservations are subject to availability, and therefore, attendees are encouraged to make their reservations with the hotel early.

  • Provide our group number: 1309CALIFO_004 to receive a group discount rate of $119
  • If for any reason you cannot attend the meeting, please call the hotel directly to cancel your reservation: (916) 447-2700.
Travel Stipends
We will award a limited number of travel stipends to ensure regional representation at this meeting:
  • Stipends can only be granted to members traveling 100 miles or more
  • Depending upon the number and amount of requests we receive, we anticipate providing 1 travel stipend per organization (approx. $350/org).

  1. Name
  2. Organization
  3. City
  4. Partnership region
  5. Estimated travel expenses (note, only transportation & lodging expenses will be covered) 
Partnership Awards
The Partnership is pleased to announce that we are accepting nominations for outstanding individuals in the following award categories:
  • Emerging Leader
  • Advocate of the Year
  • Karen Cooper Lifetime Achievement
Nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. August 12, 2013 for consideration. Nominations will be reviewed and decisions made by the Partnership Awards Committee. Awards will be presented during the Awards Luncheon on September 25th. Click here to nominate an exceptional individual.
