Domestic Violence Mandates

As we told you earlier this week, a state budget trailer bill that was signed into law yesterday removed several mandates on law enforcement's response to domestic violence.  The Partnership, along with crime victim advocacy groups and several District Attorneys, submitted letters expressing our strong concern with this change.  And today, we have good news to report!  A pending bill, AB 81, has been amended to restore these mandates, maintaining the same language that has been in place for all these years.  This bill is working its way through the legislative process and the Partnership will be tracking it closely.  We appreciate everyone who submitted letters to make your voices heard on this issue, and the work of the Legislature to maintain the mandate language.
