During the month of May, the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (the Partnership) is holding a fundraising drive to raise money for EVA's Hope -- a fund that provides emergency financial assistance to victims of domestic violence.
When fleeing an abusive relationship, survivors often deal with unexpected expenses like transport costs and rent deposits. As a matter of fact, financial hardship often makes it very difficult for victims to leave abusive relationships and is the number one reason why victims return to their abusers.
Through EVA's Hope, the Partnership will provide emergency financial assistance for domestic violence victims and their children as they flee abuse and rebuild their lives.
Shelters and other direct service organizations that are Partnership members may apply to the Partnership on behalf of domestic violence survivors for an EVA's Hope grant of up to $500 per survivor. These grants can be used by survivors for expenses such as food, transportation costs, rent deposits, employment and education costs, or other unanticipated expenses incurred while escaping violence.
Leaving an abusive relationship is only the first step in starting a new life. Your contribution to EVA's Hope will help a family along the path to a new, violence-free future.
