Campaign to End Domestic Violence: Statewide Week of Advocacy

March 25-28, 2013

Sign Up to Take Action in Your Community Today!

This year, we are organizing a statewide week of in-district visits and encouraging all of our members to meet with their elected officials!

WHY?

Because our elected officials need to hear directly from YOU!

Elected officials care about the needs of their constituents, and need to know about the important services you provide.

With over 30 new members of the legislature to educate, your voice is essential!

On behalf of domestic violence advocates, organizations and the survivors they serve, the Partnership's policy team will conduct meet-and-greets with all of the new legislators over the next few weeks. Your in-district meetings will help to further build these new relationships, and also strengthen connections with returning legislators.

DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Help your elected official understand the positive impact state funding has on local programs and describe the role that this funding plays in your work or the impact that you have seen it have in the community.
  • Thank your representative for steps he/she has taken in the past to support victims of domestic and sexual violence.
  • Tell your story and share personal anecdotes and statistics from your community that illustrate why domestic violence services are critical.
  • Enlist your elected officials' support of our statewide UNIFIED VOICE and ongoing commitment to end domestic violence in California.

Thanks to you, our members, the Partnership's voice is firmly embedded in Sacramento to advocate for funding for all domestic violence service needs throughout the state. When our members work alongside the Partnership staff, together we are stronger, smarter and more effective at ending domestic violence in California. By working as a unified voice for domestic violence, we effectively raise awareness of this public safety issue throughout California. Help us keep that voice strong and commit to take action by signing up to participate in our statewide keep of in-district visits

There will be a variety of activities led by the Partnership Policy team that will assist and prepare organizations and individuals to participate in this year's campaign.

COMMIT TO TAKE ACTION NOW!
