5K/Fun Run to Benefit WDSRA Open to Everyone

Many Tiger Trot logothanks to the Wiesbrook Elementary School PTA. They have chosen WDSRA as a beneficiary of their 2016 Wiesbrook Tiger Trot 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run. The Tiger Trot is open to everyone. 

The course winds through the Arrowhead and Legends neighborhoods. It is a flat course making it perfect for any ability runner and it is a USA Track and Field certified course.

Comcast Cares Day Mulch We want to give a huge shout out to ALL the Comcast friends and families that came out to WDSRA on Comcast Cares Day, April 30th. So many great volunteers...132 strong! 

We can't thank you enough for all the projects that you assisted with. There was bus and window washing, landscaping, collating invitations for the upcoming golf outing, kit assembly for our camps and other programs, Spring Fling preparation, and a Community Park clean-up.

Looking for Head Instructors and Volunteers

We Come play with usstill have a few openings for Head Instructors in our summer camps. But you can't get hired if you don't apply! 

Summer jobs at WDSRA are fun, offer flexible schedules and competitive wages. This a great opportunity for teachers, education or special education majors, and college or high school students. Experience is a plus but we will train. 
 
We are also looking for volunteers, especially for the Naperville area. Can you assist with Bowling (Tues/Thurs) Cooking 101(Sats), Beginner Golf (Mons) or our Out & About programs (variety of days/times)?

Sensory Garden Play Days Open to ALL Families!
 
2016 Summer Play Days: 5/21, 6/18, 7/16, 8/20

Sensory Garden Play DaysEveryone is invited to the summer's first Play Day at the all-inclusive Sensory Garden Playground. Though the playground is open every day/ year round, just like any other playground, there will be special family-friendly fun including: face-painting, lawn games, gardening, and a whole lot of more for everyone!

Special Needs Time at Carnival

Special Needs carnival time Love carnivals? Fantasy Amusement Carnival is hosting special needs family time. The carnival will be closed to the general public during this time allowing families with children with a disability extra time to safely enter and exit rides which will be run at slower speeds. You will receive complimentary admission, popcorn and cotton candy along with one stuffed animal prize per child.

Volunteer at Ribfest for WDSRA
  
Ribfest logo Can you work Ribfest on behalf of WDSRA? In exchange for sending volunteers, the Exchange Club of Naperville donates a portion of the money raised at Ribfest back to WDSRA. The number of volunteers working on behalf of WDSRA may directly impact the size of the donation we receive from them. 
 
All you need to volunteer is a friendly attitude and a willingness to have fun. All positions are easy to learn and any specific training will be given on site. There are a variety of shifts. And the very best perk is that you get to enjoy Ribfest after your shift is over.

Volunteers are needed to serve beverages, assist in the identificatiotents, serve as parking attendants, etc. Opportunities for all ages!
