The discount cards offer year long discounts to various AV Businesses and may be resold for $10 each.

A progressive player program designed for players who have the interest, skills, and abilities, and would like to enhance their experience and individual growth through soccer while retaining the spirit of and organization membership in AYSO. The goal of EXTRA is to strengthen AYSO by retaining players and volunteers in additional primary programs operated under the AYSO philosophies. EXTRA is not designed to overshadow or harm the standard primary program.

Who is eligible to play EXTRA? Any child who's playing age is between U-10 and U-19 is eligible for selection opportunities to an EXTRA team, should such a team exist (Section 10 currently only runs teams in the U10-U16 Divisions). Each of these players must be a currently registered player in the Region before being permitted to participate in the selection process. If your player did not play in AYSO last season, a $20 insurance fee needs to be paid before your player can participate in tryouts.

All players must be newly selected each membership year. Teams will be reformed and balanced each membership year. It is possible that not all players who apply will be selected to a team.

All players who participate in the player selection process will be notified promptly after the final selection date whether he or she was selected to a team. Notification must first be given to those players who were not selected with the assurance they will be placed on a standard primary program team in the normal Regional process.   

What QH AYSO divisions will have EXTRA teams?  The determination of which divisions will have extra teams will depend on the interest level in each division determined at the March and May Registrations. 

Does participation on the EXTRA team cost additional money?  Yes, there will be additional costs associated with the EXTRA program - $270 in addition to the regular registration fee for the season. You pay your 2013 Player Registration fees (as listed at the top of this notice), then at your first EXTRA Player Tryouts you pay a separate check for $270, which is cashed only after your player is selected to an EXTRA Team.  The Extra Cost covers Professional Trainers that help with practices.

Can my child play on a regular season team and an EXTRA team?  No.  Region 638 will be running the EXTRA Program as a side-by-side program as directed by Section 10. 

Will my child still be eligible to be nominated or chosen for All-Stars?  No.  Players on the EXTRA teams will not be eligible to be nominated or chosen for the All-Star teams since they will not be participating in the primary fall season.

The objective of this program is to provide young players and their parents with a "pressure free" introduction to the beautiful and simple game of soccer. At this age, players should be exposed to soccer by playing simple, fun activities and games that require little to no practice, and a minimal time commitment.

What is the U05 season all about? For the U05's, it is a "Jamboree One with One Program" where we have one session per week that includes a warmup/stretch, drills and we finish every session by playing a 3 vs 3 game - yes, the same "game" as the U06 Division!

What is meant by "Jamboree"?  It literally means that everyone (parents/players) participate at the same time doing the same thing. The Master Coach demonstrates a specific stretch/training drill and then the parents/players practice it. After some time, they do a different stretch/training drill. Each week, new and exciting drills and group games are introduced by the Master Coach. There are also parent/coaches on each field to help guide the players/parents through each session.

What is meant by "One with One"?  Each player is accompanied by a parent (or other adult) for the stretching and training portions of the session - so it is "one" parent "with "one" player.  All parent participants in the U05 Jamboree program will be required to be a registered volunteer. 

What does the "One with One" parent participation really entail?  During the stretching and training part of the session, the parent will stand beside the player and participate as a partner (some drills may not require the parent to participate). As these are 4yr olds, every activity in the program is age appropriate. During the 3 v 3 games, the parents line the field to offer encouragement and assist with substitution of players.

Can I leave my child at the session without a parent/adult?  All players must be accompanied by a parent/adult volunteer during the stretching and training portions of the sessions (first 30 - 40 minutes). Once the games begin, the players will be guided by the Master Coach and the Assistant Coaches.

When are training sessions and games?  All U05 players will train and play on Saturdays.  Each session will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
