Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce
Executive Director's Report
Small Business Saturday is a national day of recognition on the Saturday after Black Friday each November. This day was founded in 2010 and was designed to pay homage to the small, local businesses that make our towns great. We at the Greater Medina Chamber know that there are TONS of these businesses in our area and we feel that one day just isn't enough to showcase them all adequately. So we are designating November as Small Business Month here at the office.
If you are a Chamber member and a small business and you would like us to share your information with our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn followers, please email the following information to [email protected] on or before Friday, October 31st for consideration.
Business Name Contact Name (should we have any questions) Phone number Website Any specials for the holidays, if applicable
We will be spotlighting a minimum of one member business per day for the whole month of November. Be sure to send your information right away so your business gets its time in the sun.
Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
-Heather Taylor, Executive Director Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce

He was a strong guiding influence and will be missed by all that knew him! Please keep Gerri and Chet's family in your thoughts and prayers.

CHAMBER ENERGY AGGREGATION PROGRAM Save on Energy! The Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce and Community Energy Advisors (CEA) are proud to announce that they have partnered to offer all Chamber members an exclusive opportunity to save money on their electricity and natural gas bills. CEA's group buying program allows members to aggregate and create "market power" for themselves. The Chamber Energy Aggregation Program (CEAP) is designed to create additional buying power, force suppliers to compete for Chamber members' business and drive prices down. This program has been developed to increase buying power - so volume is important! The more participants in the program, the more leverage the group will have to drive prices down. This program allows small business owners to benefit by negotiating as if they are a very large user. The energy marketplace is undergoing significant change. For example, FirstEnergy Solutions is exiting the retail market for small to mid-sized commercial and many large industrial customers. If these customers do not shop for and select a different competitive electric supplier, they will be sent back to the utility for electricity supply and subject to standard utility rates. Through the CEAP, customers will be able to efficiently shop for a new supplier and avoid higher standard utility rates for electricity supply. The CEAP program will launch Oct 1, 2014 and there is no cost to enroll in the program. The program will run each month allowing customers to sign up throughout the year as their current electricity and natural gas contracts come up for renewal. You must be a current member of the Chamber, located in the FirstEnergy region (Cleveland Illuminating Company, Ohio Edison and Toledo Edison) for Electricity, and in the Dominion or Columbia Gas regions for Natural Gas. Signing up for the program is easy: - Go to www.ceateam-chamberenergy.com or www.medinaohchamber.com
- Click on Chamber Energy Aggregation Program
- Sign the Third Party Authorization Form
- Copy your latest Electric and Natural Gas bill
- Include all pages of the bills
- Email the Third Party Authorization Form and a copy of the latest Electric and Natural Gas bills to medina[email protected] or fax to 330-721-8111.
CEA and the Chamber believe in Education and Empowerment and Chamber members will continue to receive more information about the program any they can always call Community Energy Advisors at 330-721-8000, ext. 8.
