MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

This month is about volunteers. Although your Chamber has a staff, the success of our organization is the result of hours and hours of volunteer time and resources working together on behalf of our businesses and our community. Our Board members are volunteers. Our committees and activities involve volunteers. In fact, just about everything we do is through or with volunteers.
Volunteering, whether with the Chamber or another organization can open doors, offer leadership opportunities, expand your skill set and provide a sense of accomplishment. Volunteers can change the world and often do. It creates a sense of belonging, an affiliation with others that share interests and vision. It is recognition and facing new challenges. It is building new relationships and contacts for your business or professional development.
Through the Chamber and our partnerships with others in the community, business leaders in the greater Medina community have willingly stepped up to teach, lead, contribute, share values, establish goals and contribute to a vision for our area. Over the past eight months we have welcomed over 30 volunteers to participate in our Young Entrepreneurs Academy alone. All non-profits need volunteers and the diversity of interests in our community offers opportunities for all interests. This is what defines us as a community.
We welcome your ideas and input and appreciate all that our volunteers do to make our community a great place to live and do business.
So what do Superman and the Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce have in common? We are both 75 years old this month! Happy Birthday!
