Independent and New Candidate Filing for November General Election


WAUKEGAN, Illinois - Lake County Clerk Willard Helander reminds independent and new political party candidates seeking a county office in the November 4 election to file their nomination papers and Statement of Economic Interests at the Clerk's office from June 16 to 23, 2014.


Offices to be elected in November include County Clerk; Sheriff; Treasurer; Regional Superintendent of Schools; County Board Member Districts 3, 6, 8, 9, 10,17 and 19; and North Shore Sanitary Trustee Districts 3 and 5.


Candidates may download courtesy petition packets until June 23 at under Petition Filing Information. Candidates may also obtain copies of the packets by visiting the Clerk's office, 18 N. County Street, Waukegan during weekday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. As always, it's recommended for candidates to seek competent legal counsel when completing petition packets. offers candidates many online resources including district maps, campaign disclosure information, and a video on petition filing procedures.
