Grace Period Voter Registration Ending for April Election
WAUKEGAN, Illinois - Lake County Clerk Willard Helander reminds voters that grace period registration for the April 9 Consolidated Election ends Saturday, April 6. Residents may grace register at the Lake County Central Permit Facility, 500 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville or at the County Clerk's main office at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan. Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registering under grace provisions allows county residents to register for the first time or update a new address in Lake County. New registrants must be U.S. citizens, residents of their precinct for 30 days before Election Day, 18 years old on or before the election, and are required to provide two forms of identification. Those who register under the grace period provision must vote at the time of registration.
Voter registration through deputy registrars across the county will re-open on April 11, two days after the Consolidated Election in accordance with election law.
