Voting by Mail Application Online

WAUKEGAN, Illinois - County Clerk Willard Helander announced that Lake County registered voters, including students away at school and traveling snowbirds, who choose to vote by mail in the April 9th election may download their official application for ballot at LakeVoterPower.info today. Illinois law requires each person voting by mail to complete and sign an application for every election before receiving a ballot.

To print an application, web visitors will need to confirm their voter registration status at LakeVoterPower.info and click on the "Request a Ballot by Mail" tab. Print and sign the paper copy before mailing to the Lake County Clerk's office. Signed applications must be received before a ballot can be mailed. Applications may also be requested by contacting the Voting by Mail Department via e-mail at [email protected] or by calling 847.377.2406.

Ballots will be mailed beginning March 15, pending certification of candidates and adequate time to print election ballots.

The last day to request a ballot by mail is April 4. The voted ballot must be returned with a postmark no later than April 8, the day prior to Election Day. The "Track My Ballot" feature at LakeVoterPower.info allows voters to confirm their voted ballot has been received by the Clerk's office.

Those wishing to vote in April's election must be U.S. citizens, 18 years old on or before the election, residents of the precinct for 30 days immediately prior to Election Day, and registered to vote. Registration is available at the County Clerk's office and at most municipal, township and library facilities. In addition, there are many trained deputy registrars available throughout the county and in every local community. To find the nearest registration location, call the County Clerk's Voter Registration Department at 847.377.2410.
