The Collect  / Proper 29 (Christ the King)
Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. AMEN.

A Collect for
Thanksgiving Day
Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks for the fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those who harvest them. Make us, we pray, faithful stewards of your great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of your Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.  Amen.

Dear Friends,

A holiday week of Thanksgiving begins.  We are encouraged to be people full of gratitude.

"Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song."  (Psalms 95:2 NIV)

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."  (Psalms 100:4 NIV)

"Be earnest and unwearied and steadfast in your prayer [life], being [both] alert and intent in [your praying] with thanksgiving."
(Colossians 4:2 AMP)

"Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God."  (Philippians 4:6 AMP)

This week you have two opportunities to gather with the saints offering thanks to Almighty God: A Community Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday at 7pm and an Incarnation Thanksgiving Service on Thursday morning at 10am.  (See below)

We have much to be thankful for...

A few things....
The 5pm Service this Saturday (Nov. 30th) is a healing service.  You are invited to gather at 4:30pm in the chapel for Soaking Prayer - time of quiet reflection and to Be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:11) There will be an opportunity in the service to receive the anointing with oil and laying on of hands for prayer. Join us in this time believing Almighty God will bring helaing and wholness to those in need.

From Dr. Carla Waterman...
  An Advent Season Retreat on
       THE MAGNIFICAT

December 14th / 9am-9pm
Carla's retreats are quiet, contemplative spaces designed to take people deeper into God's presence. She is a gifted speaker and retreat leader. The topic of this retreat is one in which Carla wrote a book about and one in which she has profound insights.  It will enrich this year's celebration of Incarnation for sure!  The cost is $89.00 for the day which includes 2 meals.   If you want to go and have trouble with the cost please see me - there are scholarships available - We do not want money to be a reason someone does not attend.
