Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

Dear Friends,

This week after a meeting with our Catechists leading The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd we came to a very difficult but I feel necessary decision.  We will be putting the Sunday Morning Atrium on hold for the remainder of the school year (until May 2014).  Right now we do not have enough folks to adequately staff the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) and our catechists are somewhat overwhelmed.  This break will allow us to retool and refresh this ministry. We have the plan to relaunch CGS in September of 2014.  The language we are using in this announcement is specific, notice we are not stopping CGS. In several ways CGS will continue: with preparation and training; working on materials; educating the congregation about CGS and more. We will share with you some of the details in the weeks ahead on how CGS will continue in the interim. (Jada Kearns, our lead catechist had major back surgery and is recovering, prayers appreciated) Sunday, November 24th will be the last CGS atrium until next fall. I am grateful for the work Jada, Vicky Seavers, Paige Mahnken, Laura Klose and many through the years have poured into our children through the catechesis. I pray this action we will reposition the CGS to grow and prosper for years to come.

Our ministry to children will continue is full force. On January 12th we will launch a Children's Ministry Hour from 9am-10am on Sunday mornings.  This will be a time for teaching and engaging our children, seeing them formed in faith and more. We anticipate this time to include music and a segment will be dedicated to a children's choir. Pastor Robin is coordinating this effort and if you would like to help please contact her. robin@incarnationoviedo.com

What will we do in December for children at Incarnation?  We will take the 9am-10am hour to do Christmas Pageant rehearsals (December 1, 8, 15, 22)  Deacon Jose will be coordinating this event, help is needed and if you would like to help please contact him. (jose.rodriguez.fl@gmail.com)

Change is difficult but sometimes necessary to move us forward. Pray for the ministry and mission of Incarnation to all ages, both those who are already part of the congregation and for those who are to join us...

                                                         ...in the Mission,

                                                    Fr. Jon+

A few things....
The 8am Sunday morning service is now suspended. Most folks who attended this service have been attending the Saturday 5pm Vespers and Holy Communion. (3 out of the last 4 Sundays the only people who were at the 8am were those scheduled to serve)

FINAL CALL FOR DIRECTORY SUBMISSIONS
We will be going to print with a new Incarnation church directory in the next week or so. For more information and to make sure you are included please contact Erick Perez

From Dr. Carla Waterman...
  An Advent Season Retreat on
       THE MAGNIFICAT

December 14th / 9am-9pm
Carla's retreats are quiet, contemplative spaces designed to take people deeper into God's presence. She is a gifted speaker and retreat leader. The topic of this retreat is one in which Carla wrote a book about and one in which she has profound insights.  It will enrich this year's celebration of Incarnation for sure!  The cost is $89.00 for the day which includes 2 meals.   If you want to go and have trouble with the cost please see me - there are scholarships available - We do not want money to be a reason someone does not attend.
