Dear Friends,

This was a busy week (more than usual) as Canterbury hosted the diocesan clergy conference which tends to be the largest event of the year with every lodging room and meeting space utilized.  We were also the recipient of generous gift; a new floor in the lobby, hallway and living room of the main building. The clergy of the diocese gave of their resources and their time to install the new floor raising $2400.00+ and then working Monday and many throughout the conference to get the work done.   The project progressed smoothly for many reasons but one huge contribution came from Jim Morical, Romaine Roach and Casey Maxwell who labored to do the significant prep work to get it done.  Join me in giving thanks to God for this significant improvement to the Canterbury campus.

I commend the sermon from Sunday to you. (It should be up by Monday afternoon - click here)  As I pray, I thoroughly believe God is stirring something in us and there are good things for Incarnation on the road ahead.  There are several signs in our congregational life pointing to this: the enthusiasm in the Alpha Course; the new Saturday Service at 5pm of Vespers and Holy Communion; energy gathering around Christian formation in the Catechesis, youth group; healing ministry; home groups; discipleship; YMCA partnership and more.  Thanks to all those who are laboring in these efforts it is bearing Kingdom fruit!

I believe we are in a time of strengthening and preparing our nets as we take the Gospel of Jesus into the world. Sunday was the 12th anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood. With that in mind I renew my commitment to serve Jesus in this church and to spend my time, talent and treasure for his Kingdom.  Join me...

Caitlyn Seavers was diagnosed earlier this year with Type 1 diabetes and she is the youth ambassador for this event (click here for a story about Caitlyn).  We discovered that Beth (my wife) was Type 1 in 1993. I was a type 2 diabetic for 12 years+ and with my weight loss have completely reversed this disease in my body.  You can read about my journey to health on my page (click here and scroll down) I may be unaware of others in the congregation who struggle against this disease. This can be a very manageable disease and it can also reek havoc on a person's body.  There is a walk on November 2nd   Click here for details about the walk.

The Saturday 5pm service on October 26th has a healing emphasis and focus.  (this is true of the last Saturday of each month)  You are invited to come early at 4:30pm and spend some time "soaking" in the Lord's presence.  In a busy world this is definitely a place to "be still and know that He is God"

The service will be the same structure with the added time before the service and after a service an opportunity to receive prayer and anointing for healing.
