The Collect  / Proper 22
Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

The Step up for Down Syndrome Walk is Saturday, October 12th at 9am and we need your help to support our team "Cruising for Kaitlyn". Your contribution goes to assist parents who cannot afford the necessary therapies to help their children reach their highest potential. The donations also assist in educating parents, health professionals and the community. Come walk with us to help increase awareness in the community and celebrate Kaitlyn's successes.  Don't forget to wear your red shirt.

Dear Friends,

The Old Mill / Berry College

I was traveling this week; visiting with family and friends, sharing about the mission and ministry of Canterbury and Incarnation, a class and camp reunion and more.  I had several divine appointments - praying with people, and a time or two sharing the Gospel.  (You can learn some new evangelism strategies and tools at the Evangelism Bootcamp in November - see below)

I had a chance to visit Berry College and get a wee taste of Fall colors. (BTW - Canon Bennett mentioned a mill stone in his sermon - and this OLD MILL at Berry, which is operational and they grind corn meal there has a significant mill stone - Sunday's sermon CLICK HERE) Being in Florida for nearly 30 years the one thing I miss a great deal is seasons and Fall is my favorite.  College Football, the World Series, approaching holidays, it all makes me feel invigorated and alive and I love a little brisk chill and warming myself by a fire.  In the heat of summer with all the humidity, I tell myself a more than a few times, just wait cooler weather is coming.  (Beth is just the opposite when cooler weather hits  she is always longing for heat, humidity and Summer!) Regardless of what you long for; world peace, a government working, cooler weather, warmer weather, health, provision, one thing we are promised is...

"The Scripture says, No one who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed."  (Romans 10:11 AMP) I was reminded of a phrase this week...  Regret looks back.  Fear looks around.
Worry looks in.  Faith looks up.

Look up, put your hope in God, trust and obey His Word, long for the Lord in prayer and devotion, reading the scriptures, you will not be disappointed.
