Dear Friends,
The Old Mill / Berry College
I was traveling this week; visiting with family and friends, sharing about the mission and ministry of Canterbury and Incarnation, a class and camp reunion and more. I had several divine appointments - praying with people, and a time or two sharing the Gospel. (You can learn some new evangelism strategies and tools at the Evangelism Bootcamp in November - see below)
I had a chance to visit Berry College and get a wee taste of Fall colors. (BTW - Canon Bennett mentioned a mill stone in his sermon - and this OLD MILL at Berry, which is operational and they grind corn meal there has a significant mill stone - Sunday's sermon CLICK HERE) Being in Florida for nearly 30 years the one thing I miss a great deal is seasons and Fall is my favorite. College Football, the World Series, approaching holidays, it all makes me feel invigorated and alive and I love a little brisk chill and warming myself by a fire. In the heat of summer with all the humidity, I tell myself a more than a few times, just wait cooler weather is coming. (Beth is just the opposite when cooler weather hits she is always longing for heat, humidity and Summer!) Regardless of what you long for; world peace, a government working, cooler weather, warmer weather, health, provision, one thing we are promised is...
"The Scripture says, No one who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed." (Romans 10:11 AMP) I was reminded of a phrase this week... Regret looks back. Fear looks around. Worry looks in. Faith looks up.
Look up, put your hope in God, trust and obey His Word, long for the Lord in prayer and devotion, reading the scriptures, you will not be disappointed.
...in the Mission,
Fr. Jon+
