Dear Friends,
What a wonderful celebration of our 7th Anniversary of being an organized mission. The worship was rich and full, the testimonies of Incarnation moments encouraged folks and spoke of the grace and mercy we have been walking in these few years. The Pot Luck lunch was fun as we shared and laughed together.
The celebrations continue this week...
Wednesday, September 11th at 7pm we will have a special service with our good friend Steve Fry. We will pause in the midst of this service and remember the national tragedy of 12 years ago. Most of all we will gather to offer praise and worship, hear God's Word and be fueled for the journey.
On Saturday and Sunday we will welcome David and Rita Baroni for a weekend of ministry. David is a gifted worship leader and he and Rita have a magnificent ministry of encouraging the saints. On Saturday September 14th (Holy Cross Day) we will launch our Saturday Evening Service at 5pm. I am asking many of you to consider adding the Saturday service to your worship routine, doing both Saturday and Sunday services for a several weeks. It will be distinct from what we do on Sunday mornings. By your attendance you may give the Saturday service some "traction" as it gets going. If you want more information contact me.
All sorts of ministry opportunities in the days and weeks will follow: Alpha will kick off with a banquet next Sunday evening on the September 15th with the Alpha class starting on Sunday morning September 22 at 9am.
Order of St. Luke Healing Ministry will have an initial meeting following the 10:15am service next Sunday.
The class at the Oviedo YMCA starts next week on Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings. (See below)
Compass Youth Group is moving to Sunday evenings 6:30-8pm starting on September 22.
Confirmation Classes kick-off on Sunday, September 29th / 12-3pm with a lunch following the 10:15am service.
Check the links for more details and a few other things that are starting up (Home Groups / Discipleship / etc.)
I commented to a couple folks yesterday that I walked away with the impression "the pump has been primed"; that is we are about to see Gospel gush forth from Incarnation into this community. If you were to ask me what is my expectation of members of the church, I could phrase it this way... I hope the saints at Incarnation are actively: Loving God with all they are; loving others as Jesus loves us; Sharing the love of God with the world by "word and example" proclaiming the Good News to all. That is the "flow" we want streaming through us to Oviedo, Winter Springs, Chuluota, UCF and beyond.
May God grant us favor and provision, success and growth for the Kingdom of God...
in the Mission,
Fr. Jon+
