Dear Friends,
As we move into August I hope this will be a month where we soak Incarnation and our ministry in prayer. With new services and initiatives on the horizon we need to know and realize Psalm 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain... I spoke about vanity in the sermon yesterday and how we need an eternal focus. (Click Here) I look around and I see how busy folks are. The world can be a high paced, high pressure, treadmill that seems to never slow down. The Church should not add to the pace but rather be a place where we can pause and be renewed, refueled and gain that eternal focus. I believe God has guided us into these ministry opportunities and events. However I know it is... Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord - Zechariah 4:6.
So I ask you to pray. Pray for wisdom and favor, for God to prosper these efforts so that people will hear the Gospel and believe. For the Lord to build his house in us and through us.
Coming in a little over a month... Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Pastors Class, Compass Youth Group, Home Groups, Discipleship, Alpha, Opportunities to Serve, Morning Prayer, A New Saturday Evening Worship Service, Special services, Fellowships and more! You can read about some of what we will be doing... CLICK HERE
We will also be teaching a class at the Oviedo YMCA starting on September 17th, This class is open to the community and a nice way to introduce people to Incarnation. ( CLICK HERE for a Flyer) Pray we can make a difference in people's lives.
May His Kingdom come and will be done...
in the mission,

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Altar Guild Needs Three New People
The Altar Guild needs three new people to serve in the preparation for Eucharist worship and to clean up afterwards. We like to have four teams, one for each Sunday of the month, so that it is only once a month that you serve. The tasks are simple: we put things out, we put things away and we wash up afterward and we clean and iron the linens. We have a book that reminds us of what we have to do and Deacon Dick provides lots of hands on training. All that the Guild does is steeped in tradition, history and becomes a very fulfilling and sacred duty.
