The Collect / Proper 9
O God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

Dear Friends,
I walk away from Sundays at Incarnation with real joy. I pray we as I said in my sermon (Click Here to listen) that we are a burden bearing community / church. I was taken by this phrase in the collect for this week.
Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection;
Godly affection for one another is our calling. In the Epistle we had this:
So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest-time, if we do not give up. So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith. Galatians 6:9-10 Our life should be characterized by sharing with others, support, encouragement, mercy, kindness, forgiveness; all expressions of LOVE. We learn and discover this kind of love in Christ Jesus who loved us so much that he gave his life to save, redeem, make new and whole. It starts in us with each other and especially internally in the church. From there it is to overflow us to the world around us; where we work, go to school, shop, work-out, everywhere we go. May we be known for how we love, give and support one another in this life. Let us be true companions in this earthly pilgrimage that leads to eternal life. Let us sow to Spirit for in doing so we enter blessed abundance...
in the mission,
Fr. Jon+
