The Collect for the Third Sunday in Lent
A lmighty God, you know that we have no power in ourselves to help ourselves: Keep us both outwardly in our bodies and inwardly in our souls, that we may be defended from all adversities which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

A Request from your Vicar...
We live in an age of technology and most people are communicating through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and more.  I know that the way people will find us initially is on the Web.  I would ask two things.

First when there is an announcement, update, link would you regularly put it on the social media use.  This will help promote what we are doing. Secondly if you want to help increase our web presence for both Incarnation and Canterbury and are willing to post and maintain some accounts on behalf of the church please let me know.
Dear Friends,

I sense we are ramping up for a season of activity that will deepen our faith, extend our reach and see us grow.  There are several places for folks to get involved:

Flower Guild - In Lent we do not do flowers but that will change on Easter Sunday (March 31st) and there is a need for folks to help in this aspect of our worship.  It may seem daunting to some but Roseddy Montgomery will help train people and you can contact her for more information roseddyb@gmail.com

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - needs teacher assistants and this is an amazing ministry to our children and I think folks who participate learn as much as the kids (if not more)  Contact Jada Kearns for more jadakearns@hotmail.com

Stations of the Cross for Families and Children - On Good Friday, March 29 at 4pm this has been a fixture in our Holy Week schedule since we began and it is a means of engaging the community in the passion of Jesus walking with Him to the cross.   The youth group is taking the lead but this is an opportunity to lend a hand and get involved.   Contact Brett Spencer

Community Easter Egg Hunt / Saturday March 30th (Holy Saturday) 10am- 12noon on the main campus at Canterbury.   This is a family friendly event and we need help with all the things we will do from food and refreshments, crafts, activities, hospitality and more.  We may even have an Easter Bunny appear.   The details are still being planned and Lydia Pierce is organizing the details currently but we need a lot of help!  Contact Lydia clpierce1106@earthlink.net

Our Holy Week schedule will be full and fun; rich and profound and it is a journey that leads us deeper into the mystery of our redemption.

The Centrality of the Cross
video teaching continues in the Pastor's Class on Sunday at 9am.  Mike Atkins teaches this amazing video series on the Cross of Jesus unveiling the many profound moments that the cross mediates to those who believe. Please make every effort to attend this teaching as a part of your lenten journey this year, it will change your life.  You can read about Mike at... http://mikeatkinsministry.com/1-about.htm

Wednesdays in Lent we will have a soup supper and Lenten Prayer Meeting in the St. Augustine Chapel. (supper at 6pm / Prayer Meeting at 6:30pm)  It is a time to gather and fellowship and to pray and share in the Eucharist. The goal is to create a quiet, contemplative space where we give God our undivided attention.
