Dear Friends, We had a very full and rich weekend at Canterbury and Incarnation. The Lenten Retreat on prophetic ministry was an amazing time. As one person wrote me regarding the retreat... Jesus walked among us. Canterbury co-sponsored the retreat with Messenger Fellowship - a dynamic ministry, basically a fellowship for church leaders. Their ministry is unique and profound. We were blessed in the retreat that it rolled over into Sunday morning with The Rev. Dennis Woodsmall, Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Santa Clara California. Dennis is a good friend with a huge heart to see people made whole in Christ. (Check their church's website at... http://fpcsc.org ) He is also and excellent preacher and you can listen to Dennis' excellent sermon CLICK HERE
We started The Centrality of the Cross video teaching in the Pastor's Class on Sunday at 9am. Another good friend Mike Atkins teaches this video series. Please make every effort to attend this teaching as a part of your lenten journey this year, it will change your life. You can read about Mike at... http://mikeatkinsministry.com/1-about.htm
Wednesdays in Lent we will have a soup supper and Lenten Prayer Meeting in the St. Augustine Chapel. (supper at 6pm / Prayer Meeting at 6:30pm) It is a time to gather and fellowship and to pray and share in the Eucharist. Each week will be different but the goal is to create a quiet, contemplative space where we give God our undivided attention.
As we walk in these days, may hearts be tuned, may we see more, listen intently, in all respond in obedience to the Lord. This is the way of the Christian life and when we journey in these days of Lent we have opportunity to grow close and deep in faith seeing the Kingdom of God.
