das Jahr neigt sich dem Ende zu und nächste Woche spielen unsere Bands die letzten Konzerte für 2015. Im Dezember Newsletter blicken wir auf die Monomyth Tour, beginnen den Countdown zum Magnificent Music Festival 2016 indem wir das Jahr 2006 Revue passieren lassen und weisen auf die nächsten Berlin Konzerte hin. Trotz eines viel gelobten Auftritts auf dem diesjährigen Stoned From The Underground handelt es sich bei der holländischen Band Monomyth immer noch um einen echten Geheimtipp. Zu Unrecht, denn das Quintett aus Den Haag bietet eine titanische Spacerock Show allererster Güte. Mit dem Background langjähriger Erfahrung -- Mitglieder von Monomyth spielten früher in der Kultband 35007 -- stecken sie sich ihren eigenen Claim im weiten Feld des instrumentalen Stoner-Kraut-Prog-Space-Rock ab. Für den Monomyth Sound braucht man Geduld und ein geschultes Ohr, dann entfaltet er eine hypnotische Wirkung und zieht die Hörer in eine Trance! Man hört, dass Monomyth Fans von Pink Floyd und Motorpsycho sind, aber auch die heavy Fraktion kommt auf ihre Kosten. Monomyth haben bislang zwei tolle Album veröffentlicht: Den stonerlastigen Erstling sowie den etwas luftigeren Nachfolger Further. Nächstes Jahr kommt das dritte Album "Exo" und ich kann bereits verraten, dass es das bislang beste und elaborierteste Album der Band ist. Das eine oder andere Stück von "Exo" wird die Band bei der Minitour durch Deutschland bestimmt schon aufführen. Die Tour macht in Hamburg, Dresden, Jena und Königshofen halt. Die nächsten Termine folgen im April 2016, u.a. auf dem Desertfest Berlin.

In 2006 I staged only one show: The MM inaugural concert at Roadrunner's Paradise Club featuring The Magnificent Brotherhood, Cherry Overdrive and La Ira De Dios on 26.09.2006 in Berlin. Fittingly we will return to this venue for our 10 year anniversary festival in September 2016. This Tuesday show, initially intended to fill an off-day in the Cherry Overdrive tour, proved to be very successful drawing 140 patrons to the beautiful but relatively new venue hidden in the third backyard of the old brewery Königsstadt in Prenzlauer Berg. This was a particularly important concert for The Magnificent Brotherhood, then still performing under their original full name (compare the poster if you can read it). The band had been gigging around town for three years including well attended concerts at Supamolly, Red Rooster Backstage or Duncker Club. None of the previous shows were as thoroughly promoted as this one. Indeed, Kiryk's poster, the very first one of many great ones to follow the next years, was printed in an edition of 1.000 x A2 and was placarded all over town (along with 5.000 flyers of the same motif). It remains a classic design up to this day. And with this show Magnificent Music was introduced to the world. Then Magnificent Music was primarily intended to manage and book The Magnificent Brotherhood, from whom of course it had also lifted its name. Naturally though, besides handling managing duties MM started to turn into a booking office and the 'Hood and Cherry Overdrive would form the core of the MM roster for next years to come. The remaining year 2006 was consumed by booking shows for The Magnificent Brotherhood outside of Berlin of which the first one was to take place in February 2007 but that's already part of the next installment of this countdown... || ►Join the 10YMM Festival here!

Im Dezember finden keine Berlin Konzerte unserer Künstler statt -- unsere letzte große Sause war das Rotor Konzert letztens im Lido zu dem es jetzt auch ein tolles Video gibt. Kurz nach dem Jahreswechsel aber, am Donnerstag 07.01.2016, spielen Wucan bei freiem Eintritt im Duncker Club (Facebook-Event). Außerdem wird es Ende Februar die nächste Magnificent Music Night geben:
