The hard working heavy rockers THE FLYING EYES explore new paths: On the band's fourth album "The Leave It all Behind Sessions", due on 19.09., the band surprises with a new sound! With acoustic instruments including banjo, mandoline, pedal steel, piano and harmonica they present a collection of folk- and country minded songs, mostly in a beautiful melancholic mood. However, the four young and wild ones from Baltimore, MD are no strangers to this kind of American music as the song Leave It All Behind on their second album "Done So Wrong" proves, which also provided the name for this new full lenght record. Since the inception of the band THE FLYING EYES have been toying around with these songs and arrangements. So this is not a realignment of the group's typical sound but a summary of the last years, a sort of acoustic diary, another side of the band, consequently a breathing time from the brute walls of sound, which usually coin the quartet's music. First tracks to check out are the video On My Mind and the song Hold On. It's exciting how fans and press will react to this album and how the material will be represented in the band's repertoire. With the album release a five-week European tour kicks off, comprising 33 concerts in 12 countries, inluding a performance at Desertfest Belgium. The tour support for the entire tour will be the Garage-Blues-Rock-Band LAZLO LEE AND THE MOTHERLESS CHILDREN, whose debut album "Dirty Horns" will be issued on 19.09. via Setalight Records. All dates to be found in the Facebook-event for the tour, on our website as well as at the bottom of this newsletter.

2) HEAT: NEW ALBUM, ON TOUR!

HEAT are back! The heavy rock quintet from Berlin has released it's second album Labyrinth on 29.08.! With this album HEAT have moved on to This Charming Records, the very same label who has brought us the first Kadavar effort back in 2012. We are convinced that "Labyrinth" is one of the best 70s rock albums of the year. On this album -- much like Swedish hard rock revivalists Graveyard and Horisont -- HEAT continue to revel in the buzz of audacious twin guitar solos, Hammond organs and telepathic band jams. Driving tracks like "Siamese Smile", "Free World", "Barbarossa" or the official video Loving Devotion pack unabashed guitar spectacles atop big drum fills, rolling bass lines and Patrick Fülling's archetypal strutting vocal front, often over extended compositions that run the gamut of twentieth century rock history. Bursting with shuffling bluesy boogies and dark, introspective moments that owe a sizeable riff or two to Deep Purple, Wishbone Ash, Atomic Rooster and Jerusalem. "Labyrinth" is an unstoppable force for fans of British prog, hard US rock and NWOBHM. HEAT are currently on a 2,5 week European tour including gigs in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland and Germany, all dates here.

3) NEW BAND: SPIDERGAWD

We are stoked and excited to welcome the MOTORPSYCHO-side project SPIDERGAWD from Trondheim (Norway) to our roster! No other than Bent Sæther and Kenneth Kapstad of the rock titans Motorpsycho form the rhythm section for this rock monster! Vocals and lead guitar duties are handled by Per Borton, formerly in the Norwegian rock band CADILLAC. A veritable super group, who wants to be understood as a new band of their own. In the veins of Motorpsycho, SPIDERGAWD create a freewheeling and telepathic mix of stiles incorporating rock, prog, fusion as well as a good portion of jam chemistry. Compared to the most recent Motorpsycho output Spidergawd's brew is less intelectually charged, but more rocking, to the point and from the guts. Check out three songs from this year's debut album: Into Tomorrow, Blauer Jubel and Empty Rooms. The second album is planned for release in winter 2015. In October we present a short tour of Germany and Austria comprised of eight concerts, four of which as support for Kadavar (Salzburg, Kassel, Frankfurt/M., Saarbrücken), one show with Birth Of Joy (Wien) as well as three headliner shows (Berlin, Hamburg, Chemnitz). A slightly longer tour will follow in April 2015.

4) NEW BAND: WUCAN

Welcome WUCAN from Dresden (Germany) to our roster! WUCAN is a young band starring a female singer, who bridge the sounds of the 60s and 70s all the way to the present time! WUCAN virtously amends the classic rock line up with flute, hammond organ, percussion and blues harp, melting elements of Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Blues, Folk, Prog and Kraut Rock with elegance and ease. The crystal clear yet powerful voice of 21 years old singer Francis floats above all the tracks. WUCAN's debut EP "Vikarma" is due for release on 31.10.2014 via Metalizer Records in Germany. A full lenght album will follow in spring 2015. Until the release of the EP one has to make do with the band's demo recordings which were cut last year: Dopetrotter and Frank. There is also a good live video to be watched. Watch out for this amazing young band as their jorney goes on...

Swedish retro rock pioneers Siena Root are back with the aptly titled new album "Pioneers"! The band has inked a new label deal with Swedish Gaphals Records in cooperation with Cleopatra Records from Los Angeles. Following the live record "Root Jam" (2011) which was SIENA ROOT's best selling release so far, "Pioneers" will be released worldwide on 03.11.2014 and marks the band's first studio album since 2009! Scandinavian preorder of various vinyl, CD and bundle formats is open now. With a vast discography and a reputation of being an extraordinary live act, SIENA ROOT is soon present with their 6th major release. The band has a long history of both recording and touring internationally. SIENA ROOT is well known for their variety of appearances, with many great guest artists, broad musical range and different interpretations of rock music. The different shapes of SIENA ROOT over time can be heard on the previous albums, which each has its own unique line up. The upcoming record "Pioneers" is characterized by a tasteful combination of genuine songwriting and captivating improvisations, enjoyable for anyone who wants music to be "well done". In the spirit of keeping it real, all eight tracks are a hundred percent analog-produced, using all-vintage instruments and equipment. The music itself will remind listeners of the great rock era, yet putting a new perspective on the retrospect. Regardless if you like classic rock hits, trippy psychedelia or swinging blues, "Pioneers" by SIENA ROOT will be one of your favourite records!

6) WEDGE INK RECORD DEAL

Berlin based Vintage Rock trio WEDGE, the band by Kiryk drewinski, has inked a record deal with Heavy Psych Sounds! The Italian label will issue WEDGE's debut album in November. The album which can be streamed via the band's Soundcloud will be issued on limited vinyl and CD. A groovy video for the song '61 SG has been available for a little while. The immidiate late-60s-early-70s-Heavy-Blues-Rock of WEDGE found a good number of fans aleady, after the band has played shows and festivals this year. More shows with Kadavar, Coogans, Death Hawks and many others are still to be played this year.

7) REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL
