Celebrating the Life of Charles Jasper
11 am, Monday August 25th
Those who have joined St. Aidan's in the last three years probably don't know Charles, but you will be hearing about him for years to come. Charles has been a part of St. Aidan's for probably 50 years. He was raised two blocks from where this church would later be built, back when all of this area was out in the country. He is known for his great faith and for his "amens" during sermons. Charles has been in a nursing home for two years and he died on Thursday. We will celebrate his life this Monday, August 25th, beginning with a viewing at 10 am, followed by the service at 11.
Burial will be at Mount Comfort Cemetery and we will return to the church for a reception for friends and family. We are asking parishioners to bring food for the reception.
May his soul and the souls of all the departed rest in God.

Keep an Eye on the 10:30 Sunday Service!
Your liturgical leaders have come up with a series of special monthly offerings for our 10:30 service, beginning in two weeks on September 7th. That morning, all are invited to come at 9:30 to have fun learning to sing a few simple hymns in parts or in rounds. We will spend this time before the 10:30 service seeing how easily anyone can participate in singing which has been called "praying twice." The songs we learn at 9:30 will then be used in the service at 10:30. And...looking forward....
October 12, The Sunday after Octoberfest.....Bluegrass and Gospel
November 2, Combined Morning Service for the Bishop's Visit with musical elements from both of our morning services with as many instruments as our parishioners can come up with.
December 6, The Second Sunday in Advent.......TaizeŽ music and prayers
