FREE Crochets Pattern:
Allegro Lace & Chunky Mochi

The Spider Lattice Scarf in Allegro Lace is a crocheted scarf featuring a web-like lattice design that is repeated over eight rows.  The pattern is easy to memorize and quick to work up.  The scarf will have a tendency to pull in while working it, which gives an interesting, almost reptilian texture.  You can leave the scarf like that, or you can block it for a flat, more lattice-looking fabric.  The heather quality of Allegro Lace adds visual interest.

Allegro Lace shawl

The Seaside Shawlette is a beautiful lace shawl crocheted in Allegro Lace.  It is light and airy but also warm, great for chilly days outside or chilly rooms inside.  It takes less than two skeins to make.

Chunky Mochi cowl

The Long Crochet Cowl in Chunky Mochi is a very cozy cowl that is a whiz to work up!  Chunky Mochi is super soft.  The cowl can be worn long or doubled for ultra comfort. The open double-crochet stitch keeps it breathable and drapy.  The sample is shown in this fall's new "Fog Bound" color way.  It takes five balls to make.

Circus Rings Baby Hat

One-Skein Wonders for Babies is now available, and three of the 101 designs in the book feature Crystal Palace Yarns.

The Circus Rings Baby Hat (shown above) is designed in Mini Mochi. The color changes coincide beautifully with the tube-like coils, made from horizontal bands of St st and rev St st.  That is the beauty of the Mochi yarns; the color does so much of the work, and it is exciting to see what emerges as you knit.  The piece also doubles as a toy, as it is fun to tug on the knot to expand and collapse the hat.

The Circus Ring Balls are knit in Mochi Plus These toys are worked in the round with simple decreasing.  A provisional cast-on is used so stitches can be picked up to work the second half of the ball.  One ball of Mochi Plus will yield three circus balls.

The Cabled Baby Hat is a classic cable design using machine-washable Merino 5. The hat consists of two cable panels, each with a central cable and two side cables.  The top crown is formed so that the cables disappear gradually.  The hat is finished off with an I-cord knot.

One-Skein Wonders for Babies is especially good for the gift-giving season, as one-skein projects are quick to knit!  The book itself makes a great gift as well.  Click here for information on purchasing this wonderful book.
