Danube New Colors
Danube new Fall 2015 colors

We have four beautiful new colors available now in Danube DK, Danube Aran and Danube Bulky.  "Tropical Parrot" is a blend of turquoise, peach, light purple and green.  "Fog Bound" is a beautiful mix of gray, gray-blue and white tones, which we designed in response to the popularity that grays have been experiencing lately in the yarn world.  "Citrus Berry" is a very wearable and refreshing blend of blues and citrus yellow.  "Zimbabwe" is a mix of earthy golds, browns, and greens along with Marsala, the Pantone color of the year.

Danube comes in these 3 weights:
DK - 163 yds/~50 gr. 5.25-5.75 sts/inch
Aran - 119 yds/~50 gr. 4.25-4.75 sts/inch
Bulky - 81 yds/~50 gr. 3-3.5 sts/inch

Danube is a great yarn and we offer several free Danube patterns on our website.
Lots of FREE Allegro Knit Patterns:

Ladders Drop Stitch Scarf
The Ladders Drop Stitch Scarf is an easy, one-skein project designed in Allegro Lace.  This simple scarf is made up of garter-stitch bands alternating with double yarn over dropped stitch bands, creating a beautiful ladder-lace design.

Bourdeaux Lace Scarf

The Bourdeaux Lace Scarf pattern, also in Allegro Lace, is an all-over lace design.  The eyelets on each side create an almost floral edge.  It takes two skeins to knit.

Do not forget to enter the Allegro Lace Giveaway for a chance to win two skeins of lovely Allegro Lace!

Allegro cowl
Allegro DK is the perfect yarn for the Slipped Honeycomb Stitch Cowl. This cowl is worked alternating a knit round and a slip-stitch round that creates a soft, waffly fabric that is comfortable and insulating, perfect for chilly or downright cold fall and winter days.  It takes one to two skeins to make.

Allegro cable hat
Allegro cable mitts
The Cables 'n Lace Hat and Cable 'n Lace Mitts are two more free patterns designed in Allegro DK, featuring alternating columns of eyelets and  3 x 3 cables.  Each pattern takes just one skein of Allegro DK to make.

Heel St Mitts in Allegro Aran
The Heel Stitch Mitts in Allegro Aran is a great (and fun!) pattern to knit.  The heel stitch is a slipped-stitch rib pattern that is often used to make a sturdy heel when making socks.  It is also great worked a little looser for warm and cozy accessories like these fingerless mitts.  These short hand warmers work up quickly and take only one 50-gram skein to make.

Allegro Aran scarf
I love the striping effect in the new Ripple Rows Scarf in Allegro Aran. A combination of garter stitch, St st and rev St st rows knit lengthwise makes for an easy, interesting scarf.  It takes one ball each of two contrasting colors to make.

Mini Mochi Scarves

Mini Mochi L-Train Scarf
When we decided to adapt the Mochi Plus Mock Plaid Scarf for Mini Mochi and Mini Solid, I had a feeling it would look good, but I didn't know it would look this good.  The L-Train Scarf uses the same slip-stitch technique as the Mock Plaid to create this incredible tiled look.  And I love the new 345 "Fog Bound" color way with the Mini Solid 1100 "Natural".  Gray tones have been very popular lately, and this color is a must-have for Mini Mochi fans.  The color will be available by early September.  Of course, there are numerous other color combos that would look equally as fabulous.

Electric Sunrise Scarf
The Electric Sunrise Scarf in Mini Mochi was as fun to knit as it looks.  This mesmerizing scarf is an easy, two-row repeat that features garter stitch and basic increasing and decreasing. The increases and decreases create the zig-zag chevron pattern. The garter stitch gives the scarf an almost beaded texture. The sample shown was knit in vibrant 336 "Festival" and took four balls to make.  The pattern also has a narrower, three-ball option as well.
Indie Knit News:
Giggle with a Jiggle in Mini Mochi

Mini Mochi shawl
The Giggle with a Jiggle Shawl is a beautiful pattern by Mindy Ross, knit here in Mini Mochi.  "This is one of those patterns that will make you feel 'emotionally good' while knitting it!" writes the designer. The shawl becomes a work of art, an asymmetrical triangle with beautiful stitch and texture, optional fringe, optional beading and length variation.  This sample was knit in 107 "Autumn Rainbow".  The shawl takes three to four balls to make.

Check out her Early Morning Rain, another fantastic shawl pattern knit in Mini Mochi.

Crystal Palace's Panda Silk is this month's featured crochet indie.  The Lucy Chevron Cowl is a light and lacy cowl designed by Jessie Rayot.  The cowl takes just one ball to make.  Three balls will make a scarf, omitting the finished seam.
