Indie News: New Vintage Lace by Andrea Jurgrau
New Vintage Lace by Andrea Jurqrau (Interweave Press/ F&W) is due to be out in June. The book features a variety of incredibly lovely lace projects.
"Take knitted doilies to another level!" the publisher describes. "Intricate, delicate, and from the past, Andrea readily acknowledges that you might not have a use for such items. In her book New Vintage Lace, you'll find a collection of 18 fully-charted projects that she has altered and adapted into fresh wearable accessories suited to more modern styles and tastes."
The Sand Dollar Wrap is outstanding in Mini Mochi 312 "Seafoam". The subtle shade changes in this color way evoke the feeling of sea and surf. Of course, it would look fab in any of the 35+ shades of Mini Mochi. The stunning motifs have almost a crocheted quality. This shawl has been Favorited over 120 times so far on Ravelry, even though the book is not yet out.
The Sand Dollar Wrap is definitely a winner, and it only takes six balls to make. The book becomes available June 7, 2014. Interweave is offering a special Pre-Order discount, so purchase yours now!

More Indie News: Azalea Sweater in Cotton Twirl
Here is a brand new pattern from Carol Wells! The Azalea Cotton V-Neck Sweater is just beautiful in Cotton Twirl. This design is so flattering and the stitch work is phenomenal: vertical ribbing on the sides and back with the central swirl-stitch pattern opening up to the neckline. Cotton Twirl is 90% cotton and 10% nylon, making it an all-season garment. The little bit of elastic nylon adds flexibility and comfort.
This one is definitely in my queue. |
