FREE Crochet Pattern: Mochi Plus Shell Cowl

Mochi Plus Shell Cowl
Cowl patterns continue to be very popular among knitters and crocheters.  The Mochi Plus Shell Cowl is new on our website.  It features a basic crocheted shell stitch.  It also includes a link to YouTube tutorials for working the single crochet foundation round, an elastic alternative to the foundation chain.

Mochi Plus is wonderful for crochet projects.  The slow stripes offer great color effects automatically without having to change colors.  This pattern is written for a short and long version, and because it is crochet, it works up quickly.  It takes two to four balls to make.

The Winter 2013 issue of Creative Knitting features the adorable Tin Whistler's Mitts, designed by Rita Knudson in Mini Mochi and Mini Solid.  The digital issue is available now, with the hard copy versions due to hit the stands and shops October 8.  These look great in the 124 "Leaves 'n Sprouts" and 1104 "Loden" combo.  Or how about combining the new 333 "Grand Canyon" with 1105 "Walnut Brown"?  329 "Cherries Jubilee" and 1101 "Intense Red"?  These mitts take just one ball of each to make.

We will be taking part in the Creative Knitting's November gift basket giveaway by including project yarn for these darling mitts.  We will be posting details about the contest in upcoming issues of Purls and on Facebook.  Stay tuned...
Indie Crochet News:
Mini Mochi Jacket in Crochet! Magazine

Box-Trim Jacket in Mini Mochi Slip into Style with the Box-Trim Jacket in the new Winter 2013 issue of Crochet! Magazine.  The pattern is designed in Mini Mochi color 323 "Copper-Turquoise" by Ann E. Smith.  The editor writes, "A fun pattern of continuously worked small boxes creates the interesting trim around the cuffs, front borders and bottom edges of this relaxed-fitting jacket."  It would make a great indoor blazer or outdoor layer for chilly autumn days.

The digital version is already available.  The hard copies are due out October 8.
