New FREE Patterns: Knit
We have two great new free sock patterns up on our website.
The name of the first sock pattern, Toe-Up Twist Socks on Two Circs, says it all. This pattern is worked from the toe-up on two circular needles. It features short, staggered 4-st cables on the leg, with a comfy, garter-stitch heel. The new Panda Cotton Stria Dyed, which we introduced this spring, is an excellent, non-wool choice for these socks. The slow-patterning effect of the stria-dyed yarn and the fun stitch pattern make this a very interesting project to knit.
My Secret Garden Socks, designed in Sausalito by Jan Miraglio, are enchanting. This pattern features a leaf-shaped lace motif with top leaf edging. Sausalito is soft but strong - just the qualities one looks for in a sock yarn. The color 8119 "Tonga" is perfect for spring leaf colors, or try any of the other 18 Sausalito colors. The pattern takes just two balls to make the pair.

Indie Crochet News: Mini Mochi Shawl by Lily Chin
Wow! Lily Chin never disappoints! Her Swan Lake Shawl is absolutely gorgeous in the Spring 2013 issue Interweave Crochet. The delicate shade changes of Mini Mochi 312 "Seafoam" (my favorite color - yummy!) adds elegance and springtime beauty. For a bolder look, try 316 "Equinox" or 324 "Drama". Come to think of it, this shawl would look fabulous in any of the 30+ Mini Mochi shades.
Crochet continues to become more and more popular, and shawls are always a hit. The digital issue is available now, and the hard copy will be available soon.
