Panda Cotton Stria +New Colors
Panda Cotton Stria SockPanda Cotton Stria Dyed is new for Spring 2013!  This fun new dyeing technique in Panda Cotton features a gorgeous slow-patterning effect, creating beautiful, eye-catching layers (or "stria") of colors. Check out the color card here.

New spring colors of other yarns will be available in shops starting in January.  Check out the Yarn Cards on our Website.  (Yarns with new colors are marked in green.)

In New Colors of Cotton Twirl!
Cotton Twirl Stripes & Lace Hat Cotton Twirl is an excellent choice for cotton knitting.  It is made of 90% cotton and 10% elastic nylon and creates a great fabric that behaves very well.  The elasticity and texture of Cotton Twirl adds springiness and helps to retain its shape.  It is a quick knit at an Aran-to-chunky gauge that has great drape and does not feel dense.  We have added four new printed colors for Spring to the already extensive color range.  We have brand new free patterns up on our Website, all featuring new Spring colors of Cotton Twirl.  These new shades will be available in shops starting ~mid-January.

Cotton Twirl Scalloped Hat Three new hat patterns by Laura Andersson are now available.  Each uses one of the new prints and a coordinating solid.  The Geometric Hat uses 2926 "viola" and 2244 "fandango" and forms diamond and rib patterns.  The Stripes & Lace Hat (pictured above) is adorable in 2244 "fandango" and 2927 "calypso", a great lightweight hat for year round head coverage.  The blue combination of 2243 "sapphire sea" and 2916 "indigo" in the  Scalloped Hat (pictured to the right) features an increase/decrease pattern that forms the scalloped edge.

Cotton Twirl Chevron Scarf The Chevron Scarf is so fun and has a retro feel about it. It uses the new soft and yummy "Peach Taffy" color way with three coordinating solids.  This is a fairly easy stitch pattern that produces a great looking scarf! The increases and decreases create the zig zag edging.  Garter rows at each color change keeps the scarf lying flat.  I adore this pattern.  Each new print was designed to match several solid colors in Cotton Twirl.

There will also be a crocheted baby hat available soon, so check back in the new year.

Beautiful Wraps in CPY
Surges & Waves Scarf in Mini Mochi Mini Mochi is featured in the gorgeous Surges & Waves scarf designed by Ursa Major Knits.  This companion to her equally stunning Peruvian Pyramid Scarf is delightful in Mini Mochi 317 "seaview".  The designer's play on geometry is very exciting.  "The Surges & Waves scarf is knitted in modular fashion," writes the designer. "You will join as you go, but with the technique described you won't have any hard edges in the middle of the scarf."  There are photo tutorials included in the pattern, so all levels of knitters can enjoy the project.

Albedo Shawl in Moonshine Moonshine sparkles in Jolie Elder's Albedo shawl, knit in the beautiful plaited basket stitch. The designer writes, "This is a basic rectangular shawl/stole with a textured border pattern at each end. It has a little sexy sway and nice drape, and would be a great accessory for cocktail parties, proms and weddings, or a night at the opera. The shimmer and glimmer of Moonshine yarn brings glamour to the occasion. With a simple shawl stick (pin), this wrap is a worthy accomplice to the little black dress." It comes in a variety of file formats, and she offers video tutorials on her blog.  It takes five balls to make.

Firebird Shawl in Panda SIlk Panda Silk dazzles in the beautiful Firebird Flight Shawl by Lara Neel.  This shawl's delicate lace pattern is stunning and makes for a very elegant and wearable piece.  Lara "was inspired by the silky drape and color shifts of Panda Silk in 'firebird' (color 5201)...The shawl's unusual shape is part yarn-saving triangle, and part figure-flattering hexagon, with fun scalloped edges, too."  The clever blunt bottom edge also prevents the wearer from sitting on the end of the shawl.
