Tyler Smith and Charmer win the $5,000 United Vet Equine Millbrook Classic

In an exciting finish, Tyler Smith narrowly edged out Heather Caristo-Williams in the eleven horse jump off to win the $5,000 Millbrook Classic on Sunday, August 16th.
Sunday's classic had some very impressive horse and rider combinations which included horses owned by Judy Garofalo Torres, McLain Ward, Ralph Caristo, Darragh Kerins and Leann Kelly just to name a few, but it was Tyler Smith who ultimately came out on top. The courses were designed by Bill Worthington of Albany, NY and out of a field of twenty one horses, eleven successfully completed the first round which included fifteen fences. This made for a very fast and exciting jump off. Smith rode third in the jump off and managed to take the lead from Heather Caristo-Williams and held that lead until the end despite the many who fought to come out on top. Ralph Caristo, the trainer of Smith, said "The course was great and it was exactly what these two needed.... We are looking forward to next year's Millbrook Classic"
Smith and Charmer will automatically get a buy into the $5,000 AIR Show Jumping League Finals on November 1st which will be held at Crosswinds Equestrian Center in Lagrangeville, NY.
