 Prof. Houchang Chehabi
Houchang Chehabi est professeur de relations internationales et d'histoire à la Boston University aux Etats Unis. Né en Iran d'une mère allemande et d'un père iranien, il a fait ses études du premier cycle en France, ayant obtenu une Licence ès Lettres de l'Université de Caen et le Diplôme de l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. En 1977 il est allé aux Etats Unis pour poursuivre ses études à l'Université Yale, où il a obtenu son PhD en sciences politiques en 1986. Avant d'enseigner à la Boston University, il a été professeur à Harvard et à UCLA. Il est l'auteur de "Iranian Politics and Modernist Religion: The Liberation Movement of Iran under the Shah and Khomeini" (une monographie sur l'Islam libéral en Iran), et de "Distant Relations: Iran and Lebanon in the Last 500 Years."
Professor of International Relations and History. (Licence, Universite de Caen; Diplôme, Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris; MA, PhD, Yale University) Specialization: Middle Eastern Politics and Cultural History, Shiism, International Law. Houchang Chehabi has taught at Harvard and UCLA, and has been a visiting professor at the University of St. Andrews and the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa. He has published two books, Iranian Politics and Religious Modernism: The Liberation Movement of Iran under the Shah and Khomeini (1990) and Distant Relations: Iran and Lebanon in the Last 500 Years (2006). He has also co-edited Politics, Society, and Democracy: Comparative Studies (1995), Sultanistic Regimes (1998), and Iran's Constitutional Revolution: Popular Politics, Cultural Transformations, and Transnational Connections (2010). Chehabi has written numerous articles, book reviews, and translations.
