November 2012 cultural offerings include a wide range of unbelievably great events. On November 8th the NCCIL welcomes Rául Colón whose works have received gold and silver medals from the Society of Illustrators. On November 16 -18th, the Abilene Ballet Theatre celebrates their 25th Anniversary of The Nutcracker. Each year the production becomes more lavish and it is a remarkable production with local and guest artists. Consider making this a holiday tradition for your family if you don't already attend.
One growing November tradition is the Paramount Theatre's 24 fps Festival. With hundreds of entries from all over the world, the 33 films selected for this year's festival offer a wide variety of animation, narration, documentary and experimental films, including William Joyce's Academy Award winning, "The Fantastic Flying books of Mr. Morris Lessmore". And if you're wondering what to do tomorrow night...call the Center for Contemporary Arts and make a reservation for Dias de Los Muertos: Clint Hamilton - Gone, But Not Forgotten. We are thankful for all of the staff, volunteers and supporters that make these amazing art experiences possible.
Artfully Yours,
